As Corey did something similar for the top teams in Zeta, here are the average levels for all Alpha teams. Of course this includes backups and I still expect some moves to happen, boosts will come, so take it for what it is worth, just a fun exercise in numerology

17.43 Rohrheim Stampede
16.79 Reykjavik Aggies
16.52 Woodridge Lumberjacks
16.28 Nice Dauphins
16.21 Aggieland Wrecking Crew
16.08 Lake Charles Who Dats
15.83 Berlin Blitzkrieg
15.82 E-City Mercenaries
15.72 Fightin' Texas Aggies
15.59 London Monarchs
15.57 Wembley Warriors
15.36 Rotterdam Roughnecks
15.35 Korb Destroyers
15.26 Stuttgart Nighthawks
15.22 Copenhagen Dragons
15.02 Lyon Sharks
14.93 Valencia Billy Goats
14.65 Valhalla Vikings
13.93 MA Trolls
13.78 Blackpool Mountain Lions
13.29 Glastonbury Knights
12.74 Paris Asnieres-Molosses

If you assume that the numbers are similar to those of last season you can see what a heck of a job the Vikings must have done in terms of gme planning.

Cheers for putting the hard work into producing this, I'm sure most Alpha players appreciate you taking the time to produce this. It's not really surprising to see the Monarchs around about half-way. Credit to the Vikings for their performances last year, it seems to indicate that slightly lower levels can be compensated by effective game-planning. Alpha conference is going to be fun next year with 2 decent teams coming into the league and other teams making moves in the off-season. The Warriors roster looks mightly impressive.

Damn we lost three low levels and exchanged one mid level, so we really did slip behind last season.

This league is killing me, US PRO is a cakewalk compared to this.

What I found most interesting when putting those numbers together was the fact that two teams are still keeping a CPU player around. What are you using those for, a mascot? Or a tackling dummy?

Warriors DE, Elijah Skelton, I think is one.

He had an awesome first season I remember.

That number is slightly lower than last season since we've lost or cut a few players, but not noticeably. We may of been ahead of Lyon, it's hard to tell.

Anyway, thanks Zick!

Just because the Knights are low on the list don't expect us to finish second to last in the standings

Oh yes, it should be mentioned that on June 5th Bort had the WEPL at an average level of 14.739: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=324473

Given that just four teams in Alpha are below that mark today that means that either everyone did a great job recruiting over those 5 days, that a load of players still boosted after June 5, or that the Zeta teams lower the WEPL average significantly.

Hmm, just thinking about it, Bort's numbers were from before relegations were processed, right?

Its mainly because of the bottom 3 teams in Zeta. Not their fault though.

Well, looking at your numbers, the Stampede checks in at 17+, the Aggies at 16+, Destroyers and Roughnecks at 15+, Billy Goats just shy of 15, Trolls around 14, so it seems to me that at least as far as levels are concerned Alpha has got an advantage if you leave out the Stampede. Of course you did only look at 6 teams, so there might be some "hidden" that would average higher.

I edited in Coreys numbers for the 6 Zeta teams, those are listed in italics.

Starters averages:
18.21 Wembley
17.92 Jacks
17.75 Nice
17.33 FTA
17.04 London
17.04 Stuttgart
16.96 Lake Charles
16.79 Berlin
16.67 Aggieland
16.63 E-City
16.54 Valhalla
16.33 Lyon
16.29 Glastonbury
16.25 Copenhagen
15.83 Blackpool
14.58 Paris

For comparisons sake:
18.08 Rohrheim

Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see the rankings work out nearly exactly like that.

...Keep thinking that. Level helps but it won't win you games in this league.
