Build is open. I'm in the middle of training speed/agility and 3rd capping agility, but then what? Cap carrying?

You're going to need to train carrying for awhile before you'll be within distance of capping it.

I'd get Vision and Strength up to 60 for your next step.

What kind of TE are you building?

I'm assuming a speed based receiving TE.

I would wait on vision and strength (although they are important) . Get speed to at least 60 cap asap, and then 68 cap by level 40. Get agility to 1st cap asap, then 60 or 68 cap by 40. Don't waste any training or points on blocking. Most good higher level teams use TE1 and TE2, a pure blocker and a pure receiver.

If you want to be a power receiving TE.

Get strength and speed to 60 cap, then 68 by 40. I would put any future EQ into strength (as your TE will be based on breaking tackles).

No matter what you do, don't put any more points into catching for a while. You should be fine until you player is 50+.

Whoops, didn't look at speed for some reason. I agree...get speed up to 68 naturally, then work on strength and vision, IMO. Since Strength, Vision, Catching and Blocking are considered the major attributes for TE's, and thereby give you the highest value increase per level, I try to get those major attributes as high as possible before spending too much time on other factors. Speed is the exception, since he'll have a hard time even getting signed to a team without good speed, and pretty much every position should at least get to 68 speed IMO. Agility can wait.

OH, oops, I messed up the first post. I meant to say I'm 3rd capping speed then 3rd capping agility. THEN I didn't know what to do, lol.

When does carrying come in to the picture then? After 2nd capping strength and vision?

I would start training carrying at least, SP will be unneccessary for a while, yeah probably after 2nd capping strength and vision.

Carrying is more important than both vision and strength for TEs. Personally, I think you're fine with level gains from here on out with those 2 atrributes

Strength and Vision are majors though, and carrying is not. I know it's more important in the end.

Carrying is only important to stop knocked loose. Strength and Vision affect everything a TE does.

both these statements are true, but both undervalue the importance of carrying. STR and VIS are majors, so you will see natural gains there that will improve them over time. Both are already well above the first cap - believe me they will end up and perfectly acceptable positions just by level gains.

STR and VIS do effect everything a TE does, but much more so blocking than receiving. At pro levels, carrying becomes the stat that separates effective TEs vs guys that get ~ of their catches knocked loose. The bare minimum is 61.

Certainly nothing wrong with capping STR to 61, or even 68 if you want to go the tackle breaking route. Vision on the other hand, i think is less important since receiving TEs won't be blocking and don't need it for YAC pathing. I'm just saying that your going to need both agility to 68 minimum, and carrying to 61 - to be an effective TE at the highest levels of the game. Still have a long way to go before reaching those numbers so you have to prioritize you attributes

Thanks for this, really helpful. My STR will probably be damn close to 61 by the time I finish 3capping speed/agility so I'll see how close it is and most likely not worry about it and just go to carrying.

Using the player builder this is what I came up with if I 3cap agility, then cap carrying

Level 48:

59.76 Str
69.63 Speed
68.93 Agi
76.76 Catch
60.93 Car
58.76 Vis
37.93 Conf
