I think it's been boosted too much. PeeWee will really suck if teams can complete 75%+ of their passes with ease.

I hope it's still being played with and will be toned down a bit before the beginning of the season. If we're seeing 80% passing now at level 1 with SP's unassigned just imagine what it'll be like during the playoffs.

Anyone agree or disagree?

I have yet to see a game where teams played a good pass defense. I believe most teams are still set up to be run stoppers. That needs to change first IMO. I bet half these teams having great passing stats are facing defenses that are playing the run and not actually playing the pass using cover 2 or zones. Also I think most teams are still having Cbs/FS/SS still playing the run.

This. A successful passing game will force teams to put the safeties back and also to give a cushion on coverage. That will open up the run game, and then you'll see balanced football.

yeah nobody has had time to set up a defense.

I guess i will have to ask bengal to bring over his 182 input defense that he uses for the higher levels

This. Also, you might be looking at teams playing shitty teams, or teams that have dropped SP playing teams that haven't.

If a team is dropping it's safeties into coverage they're going to get killed against the run. I'm not saying I loved all of the 6-3 games, but if teams can pass this easily, there will be a lot of scoring going on.

I'm yet to see how it will play out, but I called passing would be overpowered as soon as they started talk about buffing it.

I prefer high scoring matches tho, so its not so bad. I feel bad for the DC's out there tho.

But LE's right, we have to see how it plays out.

This is the pre-season. I am keeping a close eye on what is going on and will be letting bort know if it is too much.

Also, the passing boost is relative to level so you won't see an increase, it should be stable across the season and through the playoffs.

So is it set to complete a certain comp % (say between 40-60%) does that vary on the types of passes % the distances (i.e. will teams be able to complete 50% of long bombs?) or does that set % drop as pass difficulty increases?

As far as I know, there is a a greater increase to the chance to complete a pass and to catch it. The rest is down to the usual factors I guess, build, situation, defense, etc.

I was expecting passing to be curved by level as soon as I heard it was going to be buffed, but this may have been too good of a job so far. I was thinking Peewee passing should be good enough for our passing QBs to be competent game managers, not Drew Brees-like.

As others have said, maybe we need to see how defenses adjust first, then go from there. It's still early, but at least we know passing will be relevant again this season.

On another note, I was shocked to see 1 of my rushing QBs go 5/10.

Randal Cunningham and Michael Vick still could throw the ball, so don't be that shocked. After all they are QBs for a reason.

True. And Vince Young recently as well. I just think 50% was too good for a QB that I've yet to invest into passing with, if it even happens.

Darkus thanks again for your work on the testing, and Ping I really don't think it's time to panic yet. What I saw yesterday from some games was that since everyone is level 1, it doesn't take a lot to throw. I would assume that by mid season, a QB with throwing of 12 is going to be far behind a QB with throwing of 48.

While at level 1, 12 may be enough (or the teams that invested in throwing being at 25-30ish being way overkill) at level 12, you may need 48 throwing to go 50%. No need to change things before it happens.
