I noticed today that on the Nerves of Steel VA it says:

This will not help him...break the tackle that knocked it loose.

The YAC Attack VA gives a bonus to breaking tackles within the first second after making the catch.

Since the pbp says that the receiver catches the ball, then has it knocked loose, do you guys think that the YAC Attack VA would fire before the knocked loose roll? Thus YAC Attack is actually a good counter to knocked loose since the tackler can't knock the ball loose if you break his tackle first?

i think the knocked loose roll would come before everything, though what sometimes happens is a second tackler will come in and miss a tackle and THEN it will say the ball got knocked loose by another player, which is kind of a bug. i don't think breaking the tackle prevents the knocked loose, those are completely separate and the knocked loose roll comes first.

anyone c/d?

You may be right but it seems odd if that is how it works. Why would the defender get a knocked loose roll before the catch roll? If the ball is not caught, then the knocked loose result is irrelavent. When a reciever and a defender are both in close proximity to the ball, I would think this would be the order of opperations:

INT Roll
Deflection Roll
Catch Roll
Tackle Roll
Break Tackle Roll
Knocked Loose Roll

But the last 2 could be reversed I suppose. Anyone have any idea how it actually all works?

no of course teh KL roll doesn't come before the catch roll i meant the KL roll would go up by 2 spots on your list

Okay, so the knocked loose tackle roll (since knocking the ball loose is an element of a tackle) occurs before the tackle is actually made then? Still seems backward to me but it's Borts world, we are all just living in it. I suppose I can see a defender throwing himself at a receiver and knocking the ball loose as a result, without actually ever making a tackle, just causing a collision. Thanks for the feedback guys.

well if you knock a pass loose, you essentially don't need to tackle them anymore... so don't get where you're going with this.

I'm not going anywhere with it. I clearly closed the discussion on my end and excepted what I was being told was correct. Maybe you need to work on your reading and comprehention skills.
