Anyone got any good tips for building a 5 Star Possession Reciever?

Depends on what you qualify as a 5-star possession WR, but generally speaking;

-60 speed is as low as you want to go, 50 works but leads to a few reception issues.
-High agility is very important to getting targeted, 80+ would be a basic target but close to 100 would be ideal
-Jumping is of more value than vision, both should hit 50 by about lvl 45 but jumping should probably be taken up to 60 by end build.
-Carrying and Strength should be minimum of 50 by lvl 55, more strength will be useful if you want to really break a lot of tackles.
-Catching really only needs to be up to 70 for a top quality build, 80 is a preference call, is maybe worth about 3-5% in terms of catch %age
-AEQ of value includes %to catch, %break tackle, power thru, etc....
-Possession tree SAs offer a small improvement to catching radius, but don't really help in terms of their primary purpose, consider them a preference thing
-VAs wise your looking at Possession Receiver, and Mr. Reliable as your primary VAs, after that is a preference call
-Having an OC who understands how to use a possession WR is incredibly important, otherwise your a waste of space.

That should help you out a little.

This, more than anything.

Also, more jumping by end of build. Don't neglect vision.

Vision actually has pretty limited value if your a slower WR, it has some value sure but points can be spent elsewhere more effectively and you can get vision up with late game training, beyond 50 seems to have poor scaleability.

Hmmm. I was going to refute you, but your possession WR has pretty solid numbers.

FWIW, I would still advocate vision for a possession WR...I have one with vision well above 80 that performs very well.

Perhaps it's not necessary...that would be a shame

80 is better than 50 sure, it's a question of can you get more value elsewhere with those points, I think so but still lack a little testing, it's the scaling that I question, that extra 10 points in jumping from vision could net you maybe +3% catch percentage at the cost of about 1.5% on reaching passes. Not a definite, i'm sure vision could be more important on different routes even, would be fun to see.

I think this thread implies that TtD likes me as an OC....

I can't stop blushing.

I'd love to hear a little more specific thoughts on this.... how do you correctly use a possession WR? For example, put him in WR3 slot and run SB and shotgun forms on 3rd down so you make sure he's on the field, with the short, underneath routes?

Another question for the thread. Is a 2% Break Tackle Chance AEQ peice the highest percent out there? Or should I be shooting for a 3%, or 5%?

+5% is the max, but IMO a 2nd bonus is more important than maxing the % bonus.

Vision also helps with the effectiveness of headfake and juke SA's. So it would still be helpful for a Possession WR in helping get a bit more separation from DB's

Also not sold on high vision for a slow, possession WR (I have one). My WR is basically always going to be covered well, but he almost always catches the ball anyway when it isn't a horribly bad pass. Don't think vision would help in either case.
