did I make a mistake in buying AEQ with +1 Blitz? It says it helps CBs.

It helps a little, but it's not going to make you a star. I'd say sell it back and start looking for some First Step or whatever else people are recommending.

tunnel vision and shed blocks, and 5% break block chance are the best for pass rushing DE's.

blitz is ok, some people like it. it only works when an actual blitz is occuring though.

I hate it, period. I had a DE with two Blitz pieces, totaling +8 Blitz. For the purposes of testing, I avoided TV and Shed Block. I noticed zero improvement with Blitz. Meanwhile, another DE I had with Shed Block + TV was owning the competition.

The early consensus was Blitz was "good" because it ALWAYS activates. Now the consensus is, even if it does activate, the bonus is so small it's irrelevant. I can't believe Darren McFadden actually says some people like it and that's it's okay, considering he participated in that thread. NOBODY likes it. It f*ing sucks.

Not what I heard. I read that whenever someone is rushing towards a passing QB he is blitzing. This was a statement from Bort.

The thing is, there have been multiple studies showing it doesn't actually give ANY boost to speed (let alone agility). I'm kicking myself for having my 2 AEQ pieces tied up in it for the past several seasons (maybe those 4 top 5 MVP finishes would have been actual MVPs and it wouldn't have taken this long to win it). Trying to roll break block/TV pieces now.

only reason I have it on my lvl 33 DT is because it was paired with a 5% shed block.

It's probably a % boost just like other boosting SA's... so if you have shit for speed/agility it won't do much for you.

The problem is that people have run tests using the speed script that show ZERO gain to speed/acceleration with Blitz equip.

I'm going off of what has been posted here numerous times over the past couple months, as such I do not personally have test results.

Going to link to various threads on the topic, some of which show that mods are just as uninformed as everyone else is (btw, Bort himself has stated for almost a year in multiple posts that Blitz works for DEs any time they are going for the QB on a pass play as they are 'rushing the passer'...his comments on this are so numerous that it is beyond common knowledge, so I'm not going to go fishing for that specific bit of info).

Blitzing means rushing the QB when he is trying to pass, for the purposes of the sim.

And I'm sorry, but most DE's and DT's don't push their speed and agility high enough. They think their 70 natural stats are fucking awesome. Sorry dude... they're not. You need a much larger natural stat. I treat it as a % boost for my guys speed/agility which will both be 80+ natural and with equip... somewhere around 90+spd/110+ agi at some point.

No, it isn't working EVER. That is the problem. No one ever expected it to work on runs, we expected it to work on pass plays because Bort himself said it is always active when the player is rushing the QB on a pass play.

Basically, you will find 95% of DE/DTs with Blitz completely regret it, while the other 5% are neutral or like it, though they can't say if it actually is helping them.
