Joe: Hello everyone, welcome to the 12th edition of the SuperWok between the Krungthep Garudas and the Buffalo Rampage
We are at War Memorial Stadium, this is Joe Buck with my analyst Pat Rockets, and this is going to be a game to remember. The Garudas were 2nd in their conference with a 12-4 regular season record, but they took care of business in the playoffs, beating Ujung, Winona and Mekong to get to the SuperWok, it is their 1st presence to the big game.
Another team who is in their 1st presence is the Buffalo Rampage, their opponent today. They ended the regular season with a 15-1 record and the 1st seed, and they took care of Bangkok, Sumatra and Batdambang to get to the SuperWok.
So Pat, what are the keys to this game for both squads?
Pat: For Krungthep, the 1st important thing is to find a way to stop the best RB duo in the league, Wes Mailman and Steven Neurdoff averaged 283.4 rushing yds/game during the regular season and they had 70 TD. If Krungthep can contain the duo, they have a solid chance to win the game!
Another key for Krungthep is to win the turnover battle, they did that a lot in the regular season and in the conference champiuonship game vs Mekong, they forced 4 turnovers while having none and it was a big key in their great win. If they can force some turnovers, the Garudas will be in a great position.
Joe: And for the Rampage, Pat?
Pat: Well, the Rampage will have to tackle very well, because Krungthep have an excellent power back in Yuri the Axe, who has broken 29 tackles in the game vs Mekong and if they allow close to the same number of broken tackles, they will be in trouble.
They also need to have a good game from Gunn Slinger and the WR group. We know Krungthep will try their best to stop the running game and when they will be asked to get the important plays, Slinger, Andrews and the others will need to make the crucial catches or their chances of winning the game will be close to none.
