1) Philadelphia Pushovers

The Pushovers were a force last season, going 14-2 in the regular season and earning the 2nd seed in the conference behind the Coyotes. However, their inability to get past the other two teams in the top three of the conference (Chicago, Kalamazoo) coupled with their loss of a level boosting early after the loss to Kalamazoo in week 2 was their demise.

Nonetheless, after bringing back new and improved players, including replacing former MVP Chang Wai and his brothers with counterparts who boost, and improving their depth, it is hard to not peg this season as theirs to lose. Jed and Asheme have done a terrific job with the team, and with the multiple weapons on offense and defense, they should steamroll through most of the East.

2) Kalamazoo Coyotes

A stellar regular season, in which the Coyotes went 15-1 in beating both the Pushovers and Mustangs, was ruined by an underwhelming performance in the playoffs, struggling against the 8th-seeded Dark Lotus Juggernauts before falling against the Detroit Nasty 22-26. The team has not taken a step back, however, adding star kicker Ray Finkel, who had been hiding in Eastern Europe for most of last season. Without significant losses, the Coyotes should once again prove to be a difficult draw for any team, and a favorite to reach the conference finals due to a strong lineup and Ronin's strong management.

3) Detroit Dump Trucks

The top team in the Western Conference, the Dump Trucks look to be the representative of arguably the toughest conference in Goal Line Blitz. With all of the skill position players returning, including quarterback Paule Crewe and the #1 Tight End in the game, Deacon Moss, the team will rely on superior depth to be able to outwork opponents. A surprising loss to the Golden State Athletics ended their playoff run in round 2 last season, but with the roster they have currently, they could go much further than that.

4) Chicago Mustangs

The Season 1 champion and season 2 runner-up lost a large bulk of its lineup, and will struggle to compete with the Pushovers and Coyotes, who have filled their roster with top-level talent. Nonetheless, top players, most notably Andrew Vick and all of Tim Harper's Players, continue to stay with the team, giving hope that, with additional depth, this team can continue to dominate. Tim has had Jed's number so far, but will struggle to stay on top. Nonetheless, it's impossible to discount a team that has one of the best managers in the game.

5) Kailua Daggers

The Daggers were surprisingly dull last season, squeaking into the playoffs as the seventh seed before losing to the now-defunct Utopia Legends. DigitalDagger's involvement in other aspects of Goal Line Blitz seemingly hurt his ability to manage the Daggers to its full potential, but the addition of General Manager Serenity can hopefully ease the workload for the owner. The team has consistently gotten better, going from a team with Computer-owned subs to a team with high-leveled backups. Talent infusions from many other teams will benefit this team more than any other as well. Do not be surprised to see this team making a deep run in the playoffs.

6) Detroit Demon Lions

The top incoming team from the USA AAA Leagues, the Demon Lions have ridden The Strategy Expert's management to a championship and a chance to play in the conference that has featured the best teams in Goal Line Blitz. Another benefit is that there was very little turnover, while the Lions scored a major addition in Defensive End Ken Cote, who recorded 24 sacks last season while playing for Flathead Go Krazy. While The Strategy Expert may have not seen tactics from USA Pro, he will no doubt be somewhat prepared to lead his team into the top league in Goal Line Blitz.

7) Dark Lotus Juggernauts

The #2 team in the conference in season 1, the Dark Lotus Juggernauts fell into mediocrity last season amidst rumors of unhappiness and inactivity by Juggalokai. Lack of depth, as the team failed to adjust from season 1 to 2, punished the team, as, at one point, the team was playing for 4 Offensive Linemen. Nevertheless, the Juggernauts managed to squeak into the playoffs before playing a close game against the #1-seeded Kalamazoo Coyotes. Juggalokai's knowledge and tactics will seemingly return in season 3, along with a revamped roster. Many of the core of last season decided to search for greener pastures, but this has also allowed for an infusion of talent from elsewhere, with new players coming in to fill the shoes of the departed. This team is lacking in depth in some positions, but if these issues can be solved, the team will move into top 5 territory.

8) Detroit Nasty

The Nasty have always attempted to stretch the East's Big Three into a Big Four, and were successful in the postseason, upsetting the Coyotes before suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Mustangs. As with most teams in USA Pro, the core remains unchanged. Nonetheless, it will be just as hard for this team to remain among the elite of the USA Pro League. A lack of depth, especially on the defensive side, could take its toll late in the season and into the playoffs.

9) Golden State Athletics

The Golden State Athletics have consistently played the "Us against the world" card, looking for posterboard material from other teams for motivation. Barring two early losses, the team played very well, making it to the conference finals before losing to eventual champs the Washington Extreme. While the team lacks depth in certain positions, they manage to use their depth advantage in other positions to keep the team going and to prevent energy issues from becoming their enemy. The team surprised last season with wins over Flathead and the Dump Trucks in the playoffs, and could easily be a dark horse for the championship this season.

10) D.C. Warpath

While the Warpath were unable to win their league, it is clear that they have potential, led by HoggLife and his crew of managers. Their regular season losses were all by 3 points, while their defeat to Dayton was by a mere 10. Offseason additions look to benefit the team, while midseason additions, such as the rumoured move of Spartans' Wide Receiver Peter Griffin to the Warpath, will only help skyrocket this team into competitiveness right away.

Nice read. Good use of the EBS forums for that "rumoured" insider information regarding the Warpath's roster moves.

does everyone forget that the Saints added all 9 of Ledyards guys also? Anytime a team can add 9 level 20 players and lose 1 level 20, and like 3-4 15 or less, thats amazing.

and no i dont play for the Saints anymore

Heh, at least there are others that noticed that as well.

They can officially take Golden State's place. They did beat us for the conference championship, after all. GSA doesn't belong on the list. Especially, not if the Extreme didn;t make it.

Guys, this is just my opinion. I didn't just take last year's results and look at them, so a lot of people might be a bit unhappy. That's fair enough.

I thought it was a pretty good commentary and writeup, but I'm probably as shocked as anyone to see the Pushovers listed as #1. I mean on paper, I'm really happy with the moves we've made this off-season, but we haven't played a single game with our current roster and I'm still looking to plug a few holes and get a bit more depth after losing Chang and Co.

Either way, I think it's really wrong to completely ignore last season's champs. As mentioned, they only improved as well. Since they didn't take a step back from last season, I don't see how they can be looked at as anything but #1 till proven otherwise.

I think the other 2 Detroit teams need to clarify where their stadiums are physically located so we can have more of a reference point.

Anyhow I thought he did a decent job with the write-ups, shows he actually took some time to learn about the teams and some of their transactions.

As for the Extreme, I may have overlooked them. It was past 1 AM when I started working on these, and I haven't had much sleep until today... oops.
