my guy averages a half a tackle per game and wondering what I can do to make him more effective. I've tried every tactic possible from aggressive to passive, run focus to pass focus. Any advice? Pump up speed/vision? I still want to get agility/strength to 73 next though

i'd probably actually take them both to 77 and train speed/stam and vis/conf for a while. then take tackling to 60

then maybe circle cap speed and vision back and forth to 60 then take speed up to 74-77

As long as he's not missing tackles, I wouldn't sweat it. As a DT you're not going to get tons of tackles unless teams are running right at you.

That said, at this point you have lost time on Str/Agi. Both should be higher than they are. The above advice is probably fine although I'd do Str first if NT and agi first if DT.

He is only on the field for 28 plays/game. Add in the fact that you guys are slaughtering teams and forcing them to pass...not exactly a recipe for DT stats. For L-28, I'd say he is looking like a good start to a NT build.

I'd train Speed/Confidence/Vision/Stamina up to the first cap before putting any SP's into them. If you plan to make him a NT, then definitely keep going on his strength...as you probably know he'll face C's eventually with 130+ strength.

Solid start imo.

He's got a bad weight if you believe the "ideal roll" theory. A strength DT should be as close to 340 lbs as possible. An Agility-based DT should be as close to 271 as possible. Your guy is right in the middle so he may be destined for mediocrity his whole career just based off of that.

With that said, I agree with everything Puma said above.

i would get tackling to the +3, almost there. then decide how you want to make him. NT vs. DT.
