I see a trend to make high speed/agility DE's, which means they have a fairly low strength. How do these DE's fair against high strength guards and tackles?

They get pancaked a lot on run plays.

That's what I thought, but why is the trend to make DE's with higher Speed/Agility, which seem only to be specialized in the pass rush?

I believe that most people start that way beacuse we tend to want spd/agi higher in the long run but you need to get str up eventually.

my DE has that problem. he got pancaked from here to eternity last season, but then i capped strength and the pancakes started decreasing and the TFLs started increasing dramatically, but he's still getting pancaked between 2-4 times a game against the better competition. here we are in my guy's 4th season and he's still a season or two away from really doing any significant damage.

YOU NEED STRENGTH regardless of what DE/DT build you are... if you ignore it you're downright stupid.

Your 3rd ranked attribute should at least be 4th capped.

people build agi/spd de's because it is a mismatch for the lineman they are facing. with the progression in the game with little to no passing at the lower levels OL builds there str and blk first in support of the run game these are also major att for them so the higher they take it the higher it will go with ALG. nothing against STR de's they fit a important roll but they will almost never be stronger than the olineman except if they sacrifice other important att. and if they are equal to the olineman it is a wash, who wins a tie during lineplay the OL lineman. becuase they will both stand still while rolls are made until someone wins. so people build agi/spd builds to a. have a situations with quick win rolls/but also quick lose rolls so there player can make a impact b. get to the play very fast once those rolls are made.
