Is there a way to know if your players are being tagged. I'm just now learning about it. I'm an offensive coordinator and was wondering so I can take advantage of the tags.

If you have clearly defined roles, you're getting tagged. TEs will often get tagged on no more than bars alone (pretty easy to tag a guy with a yellow Receiving bar as "blocker", after all). If one RB is fast and is always being used on outside runs and the other guy is always used up the middle, expect tags. If you always run with one QB, expect tags.

There's nothing wrong with getting tagged. It just means you're particularly effective at something. Scheming to get favorable matchups is going to favor the O more than the D, just as long as you don't do it so frequently as to be a one-trick pony.
