I just rolled and have to choose between:
+1 Big Boot
+1 Calm Nerves

I already have a piece that was +1 Agility, +1 Calm Nerves. Do I want to double dip there or get some BB?

+1 for Big Boot!

CN being the first one in the tree is cheaper than BB. Buy the BB piece.

I would double dip with the BB. Buy the BB piece and when you get another BB, drop your +1 Agility, +1 Calm Nerves.
