Thread dedicated to the speedster tree. What are your likes dislikes? Do you have a favorite ability? Post any examples of the ability working if you have them.

I would have to say that quick cut would be my fav. I say this because if your speed and agility is up it can really help you get open.

Not to muddy the water, but I'm a speedster and noticed a great improvement when I changed the custom gear from the speed-tree boosting to the possession boosting tree.

I already put points in first step and a couple more. It seemed like the other tree gave me a drastic improvement in actually catching the ball. I was already shedding my defenders but would have a hard time connecting. This changed everything.

In order for the majority of the speedster stuff to really be effective, you need good vision. Like higher than 60% of your speed. I noticed it on my kickoffs. Had 50 speed and my guy would run directly into someone. I had 3 on all speedster abilities and he never even slowed down. At most he'd veer to the outside, but sometimes not even that.

Bumped that vision up and all of sudden he was making moves and his return average went up 10 yards.

So for a breakdown of points you'd be looking at 200 pts (level 20 wr)

Speed: 50
Agi: 40
Vision: 35
Catching: 35
Stam: 35
Str: 5

(this is purely theoretical as no points have been spent on specials for this )

Basically the raw idea though is that even on a speedster build, you still want high agi/vision.

Then use equipment to boost speed higher with some agi/vision, but the bulk in speed.

So going with the above using level 16 gear:
Head: +2 speed, +1 agi
Gloves: +2 speed, +1 agi
Shoes +2 speed, +1 agi
Chest: +2 speed, +1 agi

Special: +4 speed, +2 vision, (special boost)

If i'm reading all this right at least, which in my caffeen induced haze at work I could be completely off tilt.

Agree vision seems quite important, maybe even more than catching

Im thinking to put a couple points into head, fake spin and juke.. What you guys think about those skills? Recommended agi/speed?

I can't see your build.

Your stamina can probably be at 30 and increase speed to 55, imo.

So far, I've found the WR can get almost no separation anyways to pull off jukes or whatever, considering almost all CBs play tight coverage.

Do wide receivers use jukes and head fakes to help get themselves open in addition to helping them get yac?

I'm curious if putting points in to Juke / Spin / etc are even worth it. No WRs that I see, no matter what league, are getting any YAC. It doesn't look like you have a chance to make anybody miss with these abilities.

Perhaps if my WR were going to play punt returner they'd be useful.

Any thoughts / comments on these?

how fond are you guys of quick cut? i'm thinking about dropping a point there next level. i'm a possession WR, but quick cut seems to be one of those SA that would help either type of WR.

I love the quick cut. It has made my WR nearly impossible to stop on a slant pattern.
