I don't think the Monster Hit does much for a safety. But I have seen Closing Speed seeming to be very effective. If you have high strength and tackling, Monster Hit might work. But if you have that build, you're probably too slow or have some other weakness in your build that I don't think Monster Hit will make up for.

I'd go with Monster Hit as well. got a piece like that because I get a +2 vision with it. Its a nice bonus especially if you don't plan on putting any SPs into the hard hitter tree. Had a closing piece and didn't find it useful. My guy was fast enough that it doesn't matter.

Monster Hit gives a huge increase towards forcing fumbles.

For a safety? I haven't seen it. Can you show me any safties who have it? And force fumbles against any real competition?

Every SS has it on the Hard Hitter tree. I'm at 3 Monster Hit. It really helps lower Moral on the players that recive the hit. That's about it.

Monster Hit for sure. SS's are just the 4th LB these days.

I can't say for sure, but I have a pretty good feeling he has Big Hit around 8 and Monster Hit around 9.

My old SS has had at least 6-8 Big Hit and 4 Monster Hit for a few season.
He is a beast against weaklings.
Almost every 2 out of 3 tackles are BH or MH, but against quality competition there are only 2-4 fumbles per season.
His specialty is beating up weak return men.
I am beginning to think for my skill set (as a season 1 built power SS) it is worth it.
It won't matter pretty soon when he retires.
My next SS will be stronger, but he has many seasons to go.

BTW, I really like 6+ closing speed.

I am starting to find more SS's with Monster Hit, and it does seem to be effective. Sadly, for the SS's that I am most familiar with that have it, it doesn't seem to be doing much. But I am not seeing every play. Their stats (FF particularly) don't support the use of it.

To the OP, regardless of what anyone here says, if your built doesn't support the SA, don't use the SA. Any SA is garbage if you don't build your player in a way to use it effectively. I would assume monster hit requires 70+ strength and 70+ tackling, along with high agility and speed.

Big game against similar/higher level players. I forced four fumbles alone. What say you now about Monster Hit/Big Hit!?

Against Ocho Verde? lol

As I stated before, I'm starting to see players with results from Monster Hit, but when you take results from one player that fumbles like Ocho does, your example doesn't help because it only proves that it works against players prone to fumbling anyway. Ocho may be close in level, but Ocho shouldn't be carrying the ball. Ocho fumbles too much.

+3 Strength +1 Closing Speed

OR

+3 Strength +3 Intercept Chance

I already have a +1 Closing Speed piece and CE so basically I can get +9 Closing Speed immediately without putting any SPs in
