And yeah, he tackled the guy for a loss on this play, but why is he headed out of bounds first?

What are your VA's?

2 AEQ pieces, 10 in Long Reach and custom EQ on the speedster side...

None of that could possibly explain why a guy with 83 agility and 57 vision is doing crap like that against lower level WRs, can it?

I'm not really an expert, but what your dot looks like it's doing is tactic based, like aggressive:go for the pick, they tend to jump around like that, I could be wrong tho.

*edit* also it could be vision based, getting faked out by the qb. 57 vision is about 10+ points low for a 35 CB imo.

i'm going to guess you don't have much in CD, SV or SDC...which actually you shouldn't at lvl 35...have patience...a good cb build ages like wine...build out your base and round out with SAs and VAs...i'd say first get vision up....helps you take better angles...angles and with CD you'll make sharp, fast turns not slow, looping turns

as said above...pump fakes, etc also have an impact....without seeing your whole build it is hard to tell...

Needs more vision, and custom should have been in Shutdown.

yeah kinda looks like aggresive tactics, id go with semi-aggressive. and like podger says it takes time. get your base attributes to 74 speed/74 agility/68 vision

Why are you going semi?

well in my defense often times the corners are left on an island. and while the interceptions seem to have risen this season, more often than not, the play ends up like http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=849479&pbp_id=3501605
or worse the WR running free to the endzone.

He's actually already on semi-aggressive.

Thanks to everyone for their help, though. I'll definitely put more into vision.

your CB overjumped the play. Move him further back so when he jumps, he will be right over (slightly in front of) the WR.

I think that play happened because the WR has a bunch in Ball Hawk VA and the CB doesn't. Notice how when the ball is in the air the WR gets faster than the CB. Up until it was thrown the CB kept up with him. A combo of that VA and vision is probably what causes you CB to miss it on that type of play.

Nah, the CB definitely jumps the route and misses the PD. Will be cured with more vision I'm sure, just give it time young padawan.

Even less talented WR's will get lucky once and a while, I wouldn't put much stock in that play. As someone else mentioned, CB's get better as they get older in this game. Wr's have the advantage early (imo) but CB's eventually gain the upper hand. Sometimes, it takes a long while for a build to fully develop since CB's need a few more attributes to be as high or higher than WR's do.

Even at L54 my CB, who is arguably the best CB I've build (and I've built 4 top level CB's, two of which were in Pro Leagues), gets burned. For him, it was probably tactics since he was jumping routes and getting burned for it, for your CB it's just an age thing. Keep moving up his Vision, Super Vision, and he'll be fine.

Also, not a big fan of strength and tackling at CB, but that's more of a user-choice kind of thing.

This . . . 57 vision is not enough. But at your level, don't worry about it. It will happen until you round out your build with the proper vision and SAs.
