+3 Agility/Shed Block

or

Break Block 5% / Change Direction?

Ouch....what a choice to have to make

This is for a level 34 DE with Speed and agility both around natural 80, strength and tackling both softcapped.

He already has a +3 agility /First Step piece.

Help me!

Too bad you can't have both. I would personally take the 1st one. 3 free Agility points are hard to come by.

Has it been determined for certain that shedding a block and breaking a block are two different things?

Even though that might make a difference, I'd probably still take the first piece even for my strength/containment DE.

i would take the second piece. 5% break block is great, the CD will help offset the agility and you can always get shed block to 6 (7 with aeq) pretty cheaply to stack the break block aeq and shed block

easy choice for me

Breaking a block means winning the block/break block roll. Shed block and break block% both help in that regard. It may be the case that shed block helps you make certain types of moves, whereas break block % merely improves the success rate of those moves.

Not sure if that answers your question, but that is my understanding. Bottom line is that both of them help to break blocks.

From that description, I would assume a breaking a block is more useful for the purposes of Heavyweight. It's reminds me of the "is 5% catching and 5% intercept chance the same for a CB" question. Not sure what the deal with that was either.

As to the AE, Break Block is obviously nice, but is CD really all that needed by a high agility DE anyway? He'll always want SB and I wouldn't turn down +3 agility attached to an SA that seems the more valuable of the two.

I don't think you can go wrong either way. Wish I had to make that decision.

I'd buy and hang on to both though, but I'm guessing that you've already made it that far.

+6 additional agility from the FS and SB pieces is v nice, so I'd prob go that way. If you had planned on spending the SP in Shed Block anyways though, I would take the 5% piece.

shed block is a specific action that occurs. YOu can see it in the replays. It's a zig zag motion toons make

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=807171&pbp_id=410054

The OT dies to a normal break block and the FB dies to a shed block

They are both sitting on the same buying screen, waiting for me to pick one, teasing me with their whispers of x-factor greatness. But I can only take one

wow a dream come true..such a dream that it is becoming a nightmare--lol. I think before given the choice at hand, you would have done cartwheels if you thought you would get the +3 agility attached to anything positive piece. The breakblock piece is also nice, but you know what you are getting with the agility piece. I would grab the agility piece.

Question that comes to me is 1 Shed Block worth that of +4% break block. If you think it would hold more then 2% per each level then the shed block piece would be a great pick up since you also get the added bonus of agility. Do you wish to get more of your sacks from just running around the OT's or do you value the contact?

Getting +6 free agility out of your AEQ is pretty freakin bananas imo. And I'm thinking Shed Block > Change direction for DE.

I'd go with the break block because it's something you can't add to yourself. Plus, it just seems to be really effective compared to shed block, from what I've seen.

I took the +Agi / +Shed piece.

You can follow her progress if you like:

Currently playing with 90 speed, 105 agility, 56 strength and....not much else worth mentioning.
