Obviously if you can't deflect a ball, you're not going to intercept it, but do the extra things that help with deflecting balls (+deflect ball chance eq, VAs, etc.) help with intercepting them too? Or do they hurt your chances of intercepting balls by knocking them down instead of trying to catch them? For example, if I have a bunch of equipment that gives me +deflect ball chance and VA's like 3rd down stopper, etc. that give me a deflection bonus, is it going to increase or decrease my interceptions, or have no effect?

so i wouldnt worry about your deflections keeping you from getting a shot at the interception
