It's all about communication. I like to type up a long generic PM, alter key words, and send a professional recruitment message to the player via PM. If they don't respond and just decline your offer... well you did not want them in the first place... trust me.
To answer your question, yes, we've had some luck so far. Only 3 spots to fill now.

FA sucks ass for a team owner. The players should have bonus caps per lvl. Everyone thinks they should be in AAA or a Pro League. Some treat BBB like we are the bottom scrapers, and in fact this league, alot of other BBB leagues could compete a couple lvls higher. Looks like alot of BBB owners made a bunch of their own players, and lvl'd up. Made BBB strong from the start.

I have a handful of guys owning multiple players, it makes things a lot easier. I have fewer holes to plug, less often. There's too many divas out there who don't understand that the salaries they want will break a team--the ones that start their own threads outlining their demands and chronicling their career like they were T.O., we don't give those guys the time of day.

Yep, finding replacements, with good builds, is the suck. When I became an owner I thought it would be the best part, boy was I wrong. Now I just worry if I can field a competitive team each year. I do know this, I sure don't want to make more of my own players to fill the slots. Wife already asking too many questions about the debt transactions.

Same here. Not as frustrating as last offseason when I was trying to get things off the ground, but in fairness I was only targetting about 8 players to bring in, already got 2 of those in, 2 more joining by day 2 and 3 others joining throughout the season as they become FA's.
If you wait until players are FA's and then approach them you are buggered!!
I have a couple of scouts looking at different leagues for players who's contracts are expiring about 2/3 weeks in advance and start talking to them so you have the deal agreed before they become a FA.
Takes a bit of effort, but most good owners will put this in anyway i would assume??

Yeah, I thought I had multiple stud players coming in "when they are free agents" until later when the man signed them to 500K 2 year deals. Could have paid it, SHOULD have paid it, but was just astonished by it and let em go.
Ive just come to the realization that A) I dont need to sign anyone else and B) to sign a quality player, it takes 500K over 2 years. I dont think thats going to change. There arent enough "quality" players (17+) out there that even look at a BBB offer.
Linebackers MIGHT be readily available if we dont get a 3-4 this season. I think a lot of owners signed them on the chance we will have that option.

Yeah I know, I have been let down a couple of times too, but in fairness out of the ones who have said they will join, the majority have. In fairness I havent tried to sign a player who is 17+ when I approached them, the highest is 16 and I am waiting for him to sign on day 1 (shredded nerves!!)

I've not had the "pleasure" of trying to recruit, but Xeef keeps us posted in our team forums, and I've got to tell you guys that I feel badly.
Some of these people that demand these outrageous salaries really aren't any better than most of the talent that we've already got in the Triple B: they just see the letter "A" and assume they're entitled.
Oh well. Someone will pay them, but who will be the one getting the short end of that stick?

Hey Guys,
Glad to hear thats its not just me. Ithought I have done pretty well for myself as a first yearowner and these freaking prima donna FAs who like to shred every decision you have made. They act like "stepping down" to a BBB league would be like eating a turd.
Whatever-Im still gonna stick with the grind and hope I get a few players out of it!
GOOD LUCK GENTS!!!
