I'm going to make a new DE since the last one was too messed up. I'd like to build someone who can collect sacks so he'd presumably be good as pass rusher.

What would you recommend? I'll probably slow build him for a season. Strength and speed?

speed and agility for sure. vision and confidence. strength would be my top five. my best season with a de was 113 sacks in one year. Drogan Hunt if you want to see him

My problem is the last DE I had went agility and speed high and he didn't do anything. I got maybe 8 sacks a season if that. I ended up retiring him because nothing I did worked for him. So if I go speed and agility what do I raise them up to before working on strength?

both speed and agility to 77, cap build the player and you have to work your training properly. I assume this is for a RDE by what you are looking for in the original post, sack machine. i would:

agility to 77
speed to 77
strength to 68
tackling cap (do to you have probably been training it for a long time with strength)
vision 60

SAs (pass tree 2-4-8-8-0) put custom into pass tree and try to pick up one of each SB and TV so tree looks like:

3-5-13-13-1 (at about level 40 start putting points into tree; maybe after vision is 1st capped)

I only go 3-5 for FS and CD because I put ALL eq into agility and the high agility makes up for lower FS and CD.

That's pretty detailed, thanks Cole!

Ok how would you divy up your equipment? I typically do it between just two stats. So would you put it between speed and agility or just speed?

What i did was went Agility 48/Speed 48 Agility 60/Speed 60 Agility 77/Speed 77.
Whilst always training strength/tackling.

I'm currently just on taking speed up to 77 but this build worked well for me as i got 33 sacks and 46 hurries last season; however i wish; and i am going to do this with my next player is go Agility 81/ Speed 81/ Strength 77 as i think the physical attributes are most important.

Why are you giving out the secret?

My DE ran a 4.06/40. i had 108 speed and 82 or something close to that. like i said i had a 100+ sack season and then even going up vs way better teams i still managed good numbers. the only reason he went down is because the owner became a little absent-minded and thought it would be cool to just put anyone anywhere on the field.
