So we're going up against the strongest team in our division on Wednesday. They have a fully boosted RB and other players too. On paper, they are superior to my team and they get most of their yardage on the outside runs.

I have several custom defensive plays in mind that I would like to try, but instead of experimenting with ideas I would much prefer to see what you experts in here would recommend.

So, what kind of defensive plays and/or AI settings would you do to try to stop a superior running team from running to the outside?

use both of your safeties, and line them up double teaming WR1 and WR 2 (won't work againts singleback, shotgun). You blitz in the safeties and they stop almost all the runs (has worked for us this year against superior teams). You can move your DEs and LBs out too... but that leaves you vunerable to the inside run...
