Can you guys rank the top 3 SA's for strong safeties, in utility and effectiveness?
I'm building my first safety and I'm almost softcapping all essencial abilities.... so it's about time to start investing in SA's

thanks

Well, first, I'd go way past just soft-capping speed, agility and vision at least.

Past that, depending on what the build is intended to do ... but if I had to pick three, they'd be Change Direction, Super Vision and Monster Hit.

You should get at least two out of speed, agility, and vision up to 60+ before touching SA's. That would be a minimum requirement. I would say get two if not all three up to 68+ before going near SA's.

After all of that is done, you have to decide where are you going to take him, Coverage or Hard Hitter.

This is my 2 cents and people can explain why they are effective, I will just tell you what is Top 3.

Coverage:
1) Superior Vision - Hard to argue against this SA that has big payoffs, but need to have like 60+ vision.
2) Change Direction - Could be #3 but speed/agility are PRIME for SS.
3) Closing Speed - Correct me if I am wrong but really only useful when playing either Nickel or Zone.

Hard Hitter:
1) Monster Hit - Only effective with High Tackling and High Strength
2) Big Hit - Less then Monster Hit, but allows for FF's to occur.
3) Superior Vision - Yes it is under coverage, but is effective for pretty much ANY position, but works with 60+ Vision.

I went with

- Change Direction (6 natural)
- Superior Vision (6)
- Big Hit (4)

By the way, Henson, you may want to continue to work on attributes since your SS is relatively young. You've still got decent level gains for a Strong Safeties "Major" categories (Speed/Strength/Tackling/Vision).

Maybe third best.

No, do not add any SA's. You need to get your speed, agility, and vision upgraded as soon as possible.

1) Super Vision (9+)
2) Change Direction (7+)
3) Closing Speed &/or Diving Tackle (5-7+)
4) Big Hit &/or Monster Hit (5-7+)

Super vision - the faster you see the sooner you react.
Change direction - allows your to run "loops" without slowing down .
Closing Speed - can be godlike power when trailing a runner or on kick coverage.
Diving Tackle - allows you to tackle almost any elusive runner
BH & MH - just plain drop the hammer on people (best when an AEQ can contribute to MH)

Stick with the focus on core stats still. Though when it does come to SAs ... I am increasingly going for Change Direction as it not only helps you to get out of your coverage and go after the ball carrier more quickly, but it also helps the safety to get his body lined up for the tackle better - which means more tackles made, not missed and means that Big Hits & Monster Hits will fire more often when you get up to those SAs.
