Is there much benefit to capping Catching for fullbacks? I'm thinking of something like maybe he'll head up the field faster after catching a ball in the flat. Will team owners give FBs a shot at backing up TE with more catching? There's definitely other things I could train, I've read the recommended build posts, but I'm a bit bored of following the script, even at a position I haven't played before. But most of the time the ball is thrown to my FB, there's nobody anywhere near him, so I think I probably won't get much benefit from more Catching.

Good teams cover the FB, this is when having a decent catching is important... that said, it's not a requirement to cap catching, but you want it 40+ with scat back at a minimum IMHO. Plus if you have decent catching, you won't stop for 2 secs just to catch the ball, which is generally followed by a LB or SS knocking it loose.

Let me clarify... good teams will cover good FBs.
And mediocre teams will often leave them uncovered. Assuming you're also on a mediocre team (thus, not automatically winning those games)...and a good amount of catching on a fullback turns him into a very legitimate weapon in the passing game.
And against good teams, you make them keep you covered and at the worst, pull off a blitzer.
