Are they involved in getting open?

Or is Head Fake involved in getting open and Juke involved in running once the ball is in possession.

The description describes them both as being useful for players that run the ball a lot, but I was wondering if they were useful for receivers to 'get open' for the pass.

Thank you.

I believe Head Fake is the only one of the two that can be used while running your route.

NO NO NO! WR 101- HF and Juke can trigger on routes or with the ball. Confirmed by Bort multiple times since season 5 or 6. Please stop perpetuating falsities.

Really? I only remember Bort only talking about HF, but I can be mistaken. Do you happen to have that link? Would be nice to bookmark for me...

Could it be possible that Head Fake has more of an impact on running a route than Juke?

And that Juke is more effective in running with the ball than Head Fake?

Perhaps there is a synergy, as well.

You are thinking of those in terms of real life and forgetting that this is dotball based on equations. Head Fake is a fake skill and Juke is a fake skill with a greater effect (or score), so Juke would always be more effective regardless of the situation.

Would a player with 68+ speed/agility be better off with 10 in Juke or 5 in Head Fake and Juke?

Thanks again for all the insight here. Very much appreciated.

Well, in order to have 10 Juke, you'll have to have a minimum of 3 in HF, so 3 HF and 10 Juke will always be more effective than 10 HF since there are prerequisites for late tree SAs. Juke states more effective than an HF. Does it require more agility, or other attributes to pull of successfully? Probably. And it costs more sp. I personally would say 5/5 is the best from a pure SP investment strategy to get the most return.

The first time Bort confirmed this of which he has done so at least 2 other times that I have seen posted since. When I say I saw Bort confirm something, he confirmed it. I'm not always going to link it as these questions get asked monthly and a little research will uncover it, but know I'm the most reliable resource in the game for confirming WR issues, I try and keep a running list of Bort's post.

In my opinion HF/Juke kind of suck at the moment for WR.

My one guy that stocked up on Juke & Fake Chance AEQ, as well as Clever Instincts and Quick Feet hasn't been that effective. I will say that it does work from the standpoint of freezing the CB. However, it doesn't usually get you really wide open, other than on short crossing routes.

Longer routes give the CB time to recover from the fake. Additionally, the point where the CB gets faked is often still in the general path of where the ball will go to the WR, making recovery even easier. On top of all that, the longer routes are pretty easy to get help on with guys that have Zone Spec and Ball Hawk.

And then, if you do catch the ball there's often not enough space between you and the defender to execute a fake.

What do you have in juke?

I'm working on this WR as a test build, so far he's no good.

He also has +fake AEQ.

See my post on the 68 Rule. My WR doesn't follow it, but he'd be much more effective if he did.

I can't share my build right now, just know I have no fake EQ and I have been experiencing plays like that since I first got HF to 5 many seasons ago.
