Don't watch enough west games and figured i'd throw together some east love since Pat's thread was so west heavy

BATTLING FOR ONE OF THE HOME PLAYOFF GAMES

1- New Jersey Blaze- Haven't played anyone yet but have ripped through the teams they did play. We all know what they're capable of and it's hard to knock a great team for handling their business by wide margins

2- OFG- - Had a slip up against DDL but still finished with the win. Have great talent and gameplanners and are still the favorites i'd imagine despite their loss to a very good Lincoln team. Still expect them to finish in the top 3 in the standings and probably 1 or 2.

3- NBSK- The surprise undefeated team so far. Have yet to get into the meat of their schedule but handled their business and notched a really good win over a playoff caliber Bullets team. We'll know more about them after the Gurupies game

4- CCCC- The win against the Gurupies is damn impressive and makes up for the freebie they got against WSI and getting completely shut down by Alpine. They have some relatively easier games coming up until the showdown with the Blaze in game 9. Will probably be 7-1 going into it.

5- Indy Gurupies- I was surprised when they lost to the CCCC but i think they'll rebound. They have the bullets, nbsk and golfers the next 3 and if they come out of that unscathed they'll probably jump to #2 in the rankings.

6- Alpine Golfers- Only 2-2 but still a solid team. Big win against the CCCC showed what they're capable of. The offense has struggled but wessimo is devoted to turning it around and cav just came back from his week hiatus and will probably have something special for Demons next week. Once the bullets, nbsk, slashers, gurupies stretch is over we'll really know if the Golfers are really top notch or just riding on their past credentials. I think we'll make it out of that stretch 3-1

FIGHTING FOR THE PLAYOFFS

7- Washington Bullets
- Had a rough schedule so far but i think they'll make the playoffs. Talented roster with hazy contributing to the gameplanning. Unfortunately have the gurupies and golfers the next 2 games so could be looking at 2-4 but fully expect them to win the next 5 in a row after that.

8- Key West Corsairs- 3-1 but only played one real team so far and got completely demolished. This is a power ranking not a season standings so they need to beat someone who has won a game first. Might win their next 2 actually but expect them to get a jarring wakeup call against the Blaze

9- Washington Slashers- Not off to the same hot start as last season but still a really good team. Their next 6 games are absolutely brutal though. I don't envy the gameplanning they're gonna have to do. Godspeed

10- South Otto-
Having a better 2nd pro season. Look to have a lot of fight in them this season as opposed to last year. Haven't really beat any worthy opponents yet but their next 4 games will test them and think they only have a shot against Key West in that stretch

NO PRAYER AT PLAYOFFS BUT CAN BE A SPOILER

11- DDL- The former laughingstock of usapl have been surprisingly competitive this season. OFG needed a last minute score to beat them and they technically are ahead in the standings with their tie. Will have a few winnable games in the future but aren't a playoff threat

12- Naked Mole Rats- Been realyl competitive in all their games but just can't notch a W. Probably should've beaten Alpine but couldn't close the deal. I expect them to get 3-5 wins though.

FIGHTING FOR RELEGATION

13- NAN- Underleveled but have still been competitive. Will probably sneak 2-3 games.

14- San Fran Demons- Have been more competitive than the Woodys so far but are far from safe from relegation. No prayer at playoffs but are still good enough to play spoiler and notch an upset of a playoff team at some point

15- Woodys- I thought season 9 was the fluke but i guess it was 10. Have looked abysmal this season and won't be sniffing the playoffs. Will need to handle their business against other winless teams to avoid relegation

16- Royals- Couldn't you guys have just done what Compton did and drop down? Yawn

Yeah, I have to say, I'm surprised by the Woodys. They had a solid S10 and I thought they might make the playoffs this season. They have had a tough start, but I expect them to bounce back some. I don't think they'll be relegated.

EDIT: Good stuff, btw.

Season 9 we did zero gameplanning, so I wouldn't say it was a fluke, it was planned. I can't figure out this season, though. We haven't changed much from last season, and have went from competitive to getting blown out. Doesn't make any sense to me, and its pretty hard to fix things when you can't even figure out what broke.

Fortunately we have the two tough games behind us. Let's see how it goes against some of the less competitive teams.

Yea, i think ultimately it'll be the royals and another team that ends up gutting/giving up rather than a team who gameplans all year

I'd still be surprised if we can't win 6 games this season. If we can't win 3 games, that would be absolutely shocking. I'm not worried about relegation... yet. If we get soulcrushed by the Mole-Rats, then I will start to worry.

Yeah, it is too soon to draw any conclusions about the Woodys or even the Mole Rats. The Woodys have had a really tough schedule. Two top teams, and then a tough loss to NJB, and a loss to Key West which is still a total wildcard.

Obviously the next game is a huge must win for both Woodys and NMR. Might even be the GOTW.

Yea, i'm actually really looking forward to that game. It'll be interesting to see the winless teams go up against each other and then some of the top teams like nbsk and blaze go up against 3-1 teams

oh yeah. how about NJBL and NJBA? Sounds like State Government Agencies. I went down to the NJBA to get my check, but they had already closed...

Likely most of this has to do with losing players to retirement at several key positions at which we were not deep at. Also, I am working on taking over the offense, seeing that prime is having to rework our defense after the loss of Bush. He allowed us to do a lot more on defense. Either way though, we are not going anywhere and are going to work each and every game to put out the best possible game plan. Hopefully things will start clicking soon.

You could be correct, but I don't care.

The east is boring now. The 8 playoff teams are pretty much decided imo and now it's just a matter of the order

Congrats blaze, ofg 4c, gurupies, alpine, nbsk, slashers, and bullets.

At least there are about 11 teams with a playoff chance in the west right now. I still think the top 8 of the east is just as good if not better than the top 8 of the west.

edit: Simo is right. I think the Naked Mole Rats could sneak in there if they can get a good 2 upsets over on of the remaining playoff teams less

Keep it classy, OFG.

The real battle in the East is for relegation IMO. Will DDL's tie save them?

Mole Rats are going to make a comeback IMO.
