Have one of each on two bits of aeq and wondering what people's thoughts are?

Superior Vision wouldn't work for a DE..Blitz is good for a DE.


First step, Shed Block, Tunnel Vision is better.

Anyone else? I have heard it is quite useful.......

Ok let me rephrase..Get Blitz but keep looking for either of those 3.

Your DE is only level 16, best time to look IMO is 20-25.

My DE is L56 with already 11 in TV, First step and CD....

Currently has 100 spd, with a 5 in blitz due to 2 AEQ, but I rolled a Superior Vision item (in one of the same slots as one of the blitz items and wondering if I should swap it).......

SV does NOT work with de's..And I figured you were talking about your level 16...

Blitz is worth it IF you can pair two pieces up. Working on pushing my DE to +10 Blitz right now.

Here's what it says about Superior Vision:
This player has a great football sense. He is far less likely to be faked out by pump fakes, head fakes, and jukes. He is also able to see a play developing earlier and may get the jump on an interception or tackle. This skill is far more effective when used by players with higher vision. Additional Levels: Increases the bonus toward avoiding fakes and noticing developing plays.

Nothing here specifically says it would / would not work for a DE ... although (full disclosure) I have punted on SV to get TV and Blitz for my DEs in the past.

Is there somewhere you've seen a post from Bort to confirm/deny this ... or at least explain how it impacts DEs to determine its worth - if any?

I'd say the main reason why Superior Vision isn't so great for a speed pass rush DE is that avoiding fakes or watching a play develop has little to no bearing on pass rushing. A DE going in for a sack doesn't have to worry about being juked, or figuring out if it is a pass play (unless he inexplicably chooses rush focus), whereas TV/Shed Block/Blitz actually effect pass rushing.

What if the DE was moved to a blitzing linebacker position??

I gotta agree with this. Since it isn't a part of your normal Sa tree, pairing up the Blitz SA is the only way to make it worth your while.

The way blitz is worded it sounds like a constant flat bonus, like shed blocks. So I don't see why you'd need it to be high to get effective use out of it like power thru or monster hit.
