Two matchups of 2-0 teams dot the Western Conference schedule of USA Pro. Of the four teams involved, Minnesota, Lincoln, and perhaps the KKAR could have expected to be 2-0 early on.
I'm happily biased, so let me gush over the Laredo Lesbians. We're kicking ass, scissoring, and most importantly, winning. People doubted us after letting T Atticus get away, after letting x, well not so much there. They doubted us after our woeful preseason. They doubted us going into our game with Pro veteran San Diego Demolition. They can choose to see us outrush, outgain, outD our opponents.
Don't ignore us please.
This brings us to the GOTW. The other 2-0 matchup, of GLB ranking fixtures, takes place as
Lincoln Navigators at Minnesota Marauders
Both Pro veterans have dominated their first two games, as well as kick ass in the Hazy/Addicts tournament, and the winner will take a major step toward a home game in round 1, and with Washington losing, the #1 seed might be on the line. Simply put, a matchup like this is what USA Pro was built upon. It's hard to predict, and I'm gonna go out on a limb. Lincoln wins, and it isn't an upset. It never is in this league. 21-17.
Lesbians and KKAR
KKAR leaves its friendly confines to make a run for the border, but surprisingly 2-0 Laredo will have none of it. This will be the Lesbians' toughest test so far, as they look for their first 3-0 start since season 7. Someone's feel good story will last another week.
Nashville vs. New Jersey Battalion
The Hounds' two wins over NAN and the Wolfpack have made them for real, and the Battalion, KKAR's latest whipping boys, need to step their game up against a darkhorse for next season's World League. Hounds take it 45-10
Northwest vs. Timpanogos
Timps had so many chances to beat the Dread City Diabolicals, but they let them slip away and the end result is a team that was the last one in and not one that has really stood out. Northwest has two good wins already, and better get this one with WSI coming up next. 31-10 Nighthawks
Carson City vs. San Diego
the Cubes are undefeated, but against possibly the two worst teams here in USA Pro. Meanwhile San Diego was 2 yards away from 2-0 itself. Demolition blow up Carson City 68-13
Portland vs. Spokane
Another northwest rivalry comes up and Portland are due for a win. They're a surprising 0-2, but someone has to be 0-2. Spokane should hopefully bounce back after getting rudely introduced to Pro by the Minnesota Marauders. It's not an upset, but let's see how long I ride the Aftershocks if they don't repay my faith in them. I'd hate to see our rivalry die because they happen to suck here. Portland 27-24
Wolfpack and Hedgehogs
two more Pro veterans get it on, but unfortunately the Wolfpack are having ownership issues on the cusp of what looked to be a great season. Let's hope their situation gets resolved for competition's sake. Chicago went through their own such issues, and they might be better in S11, but you try beating the Gurupies and Navis back to back. After this week, Chicago can make a run as their schedule lightens up. However, the shells of the Wolfpack should be enough here 24-14
