Agility is third capped and I will soft cap carrying on my level 25 this season. Speed is already over 75 natural.

I'm thinking I will fourth cap agility after soft capping carrying, then probably second cap carrying, then soft cap strength or vision.

How valuable is carrying to 68, versus 61, for an elusive/speed type back? So far my plan is to invest in SAs starting around level 50.

I hear a lot of talk about high carrying, but not a lot of empirical observation to back it up. There was someone doing a carry experiment one or two seasons ago, but haven't heard a word about it since. I'm assuming that means it's either working out super awesome or super lame.

I'd go for agility first

Well right now I have an HB with high carrying that is speed/elusive in the 30s. No SAs but can make good runs more often than my other back could at the same level (with soft capped carry)

I would take carrying to 61 first only because of this http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=961164

9 fumbles last season with carrying at 54, before season 11 boost.

There is more to fumbles than carrying. Stamina plays a part in this. If your tired, then your going to give the ball up, not all the time, but more than you'd like. Energy levels...

Well I'm not really worried about fumbles. If carrying and strength are both second capped (along with 4 cap agility) then he fumbles, then I'll worry about it.

well it turns out the better question is soft cap strength vs fourth cap agility and the answer seems to be that it doesn't really matter. Although I suppose agility is the better choice since I don't ever want to spend 5 SP per point on agility, but spending an extra 2 SP on strength will probably be doable.

I like the strength option as strength should assist with anti-fumble AND also helps keep energy up....and 5 SP per pt agility is 'spensive!!!!

Well 5 SP is too much, which is why I'd kill the four cap early. But if I do that, it will make it difficult to ever second cap strength, especially if I want to second cap vision.

I'm surprised at how little attention stamina/conf get when it comes to fumble protection.

one reason for that is that you cap split carries. A guy carrying 25+ times a game at level 50 might need 55 or more in both, but if he's carrying 15 or 16 times maybe he only needs 51 or 52, which is an extra level to put to some other attribute.

So I reworked my plan a bit and now it looks like this up to level 39 or 40: soft capped strength, vision, and carrying, 78 speed, 75 agility, and 25 to 30 for stamina/confidence. Then I'd have to decide whether to second cap both vision and carrying and in what order.
