So is there an ideal ratio for Speed/Agility?....

I have a back in my system that wonders....

106/76 or 102/80

...which is better for an elusive back......

No

Elusive backs are pretty rare... there's a lot of SPEED backs, not a ton of elusive ones (at least not that i've seen)

if you really want an elusive, agility should be as high or higher than speed, but IMO should stay fairly close to a 1:1 ratio.

this is an arbitrary classification

No, it isn't. There is a major difference between speed backs and elusive backs. Saying there isn't is like saying power backs and combo backs are the same too.

If he relies on speed ie. to run the corner on piches then option a.
If he relies on juke/spin/hf moves and catches a lot of (screen)passes i would go for option b.

Overall i would advise option b as even 80 agi seems a little low for an elusive back.

Are there really any high level backs out there with more natural agility than speed, or is this just your hypothesis? I don't think this is what the majority of people mean by "elusive" back, or "speed" back, but I could be wrong.

Higher agility than speed is a bad choice.
Equal is fine.

O_o

You've been seeing more backs with more natural agility than speed?

And natural or not, most backs have significantly more speed than agility. It's pretty uncommon to see a back with even speed/agility or more agility, regardless of whether or not it's from equipment.
What would you say "speed" back means, if it's not aback with a lot of speed??

Speed back= high speed, highish agility (not as much eqp), some carrying, not much emphasis on anything else
SAs like first step, quick cut, maybe head fake
VAs that increase running speed

elusive back= high speed, high agility (some split between spd/agi eqp), some carrying, some vision
pretty much every elusive SA
VAs that increase fake chance and break tackle%

Your post in before edit. Please reread.

You are making the argument that a true elusive back has equal or more agility than speed. This is not what people mean when they say "elusive" back. Semantics perhaps. I see even your back (speed is 99, agility is 100 you published elsewhere) has agility at 1:1 AT BEST.
