LEAGUE UNDERGROUND the new League for GLB......
LEAGUE UNDERGROUND was created because we believe everyone should be able to have fun playing this game. Some users joined GLB without the means to purchase a ton of flex, some don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a game, and some have already paid so much that they don't feel like reinvesting like the founders of LEAGUE UNDERGROUND.
Whatever the reason, this game allows agents to play for free, but makes it inconvenient to do so.
We understand that GLB is a business and needs to make money to sustain itself and we are not discouraging others from buying flex and boosting their players because the founders still have boosting players.
For most agents, we expect this league to create a secondary method to play the game at a reasonable expense.
League Underground will strive to make this game enjoyable to all who are lucky enough to find a home here.
To do this, we have established a set of rules agreed upon by the owners.
These rules are focused on maintaining a competitive balance by having teams develop at the same pace.
With a solid group of agents and their positive involvement, this league should succeed within itself and provide extra value to those who enjoy the game.
Now we're ready to take this thing to the next level and bring in more agents in preparation for our kickoff in SEASON 12
The first and most important rule is that this will be for NON-BOOSTING TEAMS only.
We have spent a ton of money on this game, but have found that our non-boosting dots are just as enjoyable to watch move around on the field.
Anyway, this is how it will work:
The current private forum will remain in place for the owners association.
We have created a new league forum that all owners and agents will be included in just like the regular league forums in GLB.
We aim to get 10+ teams(currently at our minimum goal of 8) involved and would like to have a 10 game season with a playoff including the top 4 teams.
We anticipate this costing each owner no more than 800 flex points per season for the scrimmages. (CHEAPER than boosting a QB or WR)
Here's the plan:
A lot of the details have already been discussed and this will be a well organized league that will run smoothly.
We already have 8 future owners committed.
So we're already at our minimum goal.
The league will start in season 12.
All teams will be starting season 12 with level 1 players,
What LEAGUE UNDERGROUND will provide:
Rivalries - Since our league will be manually, it won't matter what GLB league each team is actually in. All the teams playing each other should remain the same for 10+ seasons
Equal Playing Field - Since all teams will be non-boosting and starting at the same time, they will all develop at the same pace. Each season your team will have 10+ good games against equal competition.
Cheaper Alternative - Instead of building another QB, you could have a team in this league and get a lot more value for your flex.
Awards - Each season, we will actually have a Pro Bowl selection and award a trophy to the league champ (for their team avatar).
Setting up the schedule
Each team can schedule 3 friendlies at a time so we should be able to get the first 6 games of the 10 game season scheduled right away
On the first day of the preseason, each owner will already know his schedule and what 3 teams he needs to challenge.
I suggest that for ease of scheduling, we have a three day window for each game.
For example. Team 1 knows they are the home team against teams 2, 4, and 6.
They also know what weeks (3 day window) that they will need to schedule those.
They send a challenge to Team 2 for sometime between day 1-3
They send a challenge to Team 4 for sometime between day 7-9
They send a challeneg to Team 6 for sometime between day 13-15
Each teams' first 6 games of the 10 game season should be in the books by day 18.
I've paid attention to the scrimmage times that are available at the end of the season and these are easy to get in.
Most scrimmages happen earlier in the season.
By day 18 (if not done already) the last 2 friendlies should be sent out for that team's home games.
By day 30, the regular season should be over and the playoff games can be scheduled.
With only two games to schedule for the playoffs, this will also be easy.
*The owner's association will always be able to permit make up games if they feel it's necessary and make any other judgement calls that come up during the course of the season.
This league is designed to be fun and competitive.
The owners will decide the rules and hold themselves accountable to following them.
RULES:
1. Players will not boost
2. Players will not have ANY Custom Equipment
3. An agent can not be on more than two teams (unless otherwise approved by the Owner's Association)
4. When a team using AI plays a Casual team, they need to use basic settings
5. A team owner can own ALL players on his team if he chooses.
6. At the start of season 12, all players must be no higher than level 1.
That means you must create your players on day 31 or later.
7. All teams avatars will also include the League Underground logo
