just wanted to throw this out there to pick the DE gurus brains....

my level 30 DE. has 61 strength and 73 agility(88 w/EQ)

he does have the ocasionally knock down when breaking blocks. so i was thinking heavyweight might be useful(eventually i will have 15 no matter what)

my question is this about these these VAs

what would you say the minimums are for these to be a worthwhile choice?
given the above information about my guy, which one is going to be more useful this season?

personally i think 61 strength is not enough. not sure if 68 is.

15 heavyweight adds a bonus of 30% to your break block chance. so if 10% of your broken blocks result in reverse pancakes (which i doubt, especially with str 61), then 15 heavyweight would make that 13%.

quick is always a good choice, as every de should have agility high enough to make it useful.

hmm. i just wrote out my math on each VA...and then decided it was an obvious choice.

at this stage the next VA should be quick based on what you said, if however my knockdown start being one in eight break blocks... it will swing the other way.
looks like i will start counting them more closely.

in fact i think i probably need to dot watch over the next couple of games, to see how many knockdown i get. i just boosted, so looking at old stuff isnt going to help too much.

if anyone else has a more scientific way, or a different slant on this, please feel free to chime in.

I can tell you now heavyweight and pass rusher should come before quick. I really dont feel like looking up highlights but if ynu want proof watch my team's last 2 games i had the entire d line switch to heavyweight and we had about triple the reverse pancakes from the game 2 games ago where our builds didnt change

do you already have passrusher? if you do, heavyweight obviously makes more sense. actually i feel every non-strength based de should take pass rusher before heavyweight.

i dont have pass rusher. tbh, i dont rate it ahead of quick, for the simple reason it is situational. 3rd down passing he will already get extra pressure from the better coverage from CBs with 3ds. as a 4th VA then yes. ive JTS at 5, which is plenty, and will be dropped later in his career when i finally work some vision into his build. for now getting speed/agility to silly high is a priority.

so my choice atm, is just whether to take heavyweight before quick, or the other way around.
