my P has been doing pretty well ive won awards my last 3 seasons and i have no jumping, i always see people saying to get jumping does it actually do anything?

only thing i can add is that the Jumping attribute is directly related to improving diving tackles for d-players, so i'm figuring intense training Strength/Jumping isn't going to hurt my level 16 Punter - he does get tackling opportunities on special teams.

Jumping was rumored to help with hang time. My guess is spd/agi/jum may all figure into some sort of form calculation. It's worth training just in case.

qft - part of the overall "balance" equation, imho

How much do you think speed plays into it? Less than both agility and jumping, right? Seen much effect from speed?
Sometimes I think agility plays a bigger part of the accuracy equation than people think. It has little effect on distance, but it IS in the punter bar itself. Honestly in real-life terms, "agility" is what makes a good punter since it's all about doing a motor movement exactly right, but then we all know real-life doesn't matter in GLB.

Agility may be more important for a punter in RL than vision, strength and confidence. Not surprising it is valuable in GLB.
I think that speed is important. Bort once mentioned leg speed when he was discussing his disappointment in not having a leg strength factor (which was when I suspected that strength wasn't that important). I don't believe speed is essential, but most of my guys have 50 in it, fwiw.
But keep getting punting and confidence up high before thinking about speed

Bort has mentioned jumping and punting in the same paragraph also, in my slow builders, jumping is in the mix (usually way down the list though)

rankings for what matters with a punter as far as i can tell with research and my own building is
1....punting
2....confidence
3....jumping
4.....vision
5....strength
a guy had a thread a while ago were he made 5 punters and for each on trained only one of the five above... and this was teh ranking he came up with as far was how well each punter did.... after i started to stick to this set of rules... my punter increased in performance beyond belief

That was probably Octowned's thread, and I think he ended up coming around to strength more since then, but I'm not entirely sure. If I remember right, strength was third after punting and confidence in his thread as an influence on raw distance. If it was his thread, it also mostly measured punt distance, and I'm pretty sure he concluded/theorized that vision was a huge part of accuracy, too. Forget though, you'd have to ask him.
In other words, I'm pretty sure strength and vision are still more important than jumping. They ARE the only two stats paired with punting on intense training. And agility is a part of the punting bar so I suspect it's still more important too... but then it's harder to tell. toppshelff is the authority so if he thinks it's smart to cap jumping and speed, you can be damn sure I'm gonna be trying it
From what I've seen from a couple of his open builds, he didn't invest too far into jumping...

Simply put punting, confidence, vision and strength are the 4 most important for a punter, but speed, agility and jumping are also helpful.
