Thoughts on two that I rolled

+2 Agility / +1 First Step - worth it as it is farily easy and cheap to put a few points in first step?

+1 Tackle / +1 Auro of Intimidation - presume it works for a CB - think it would be effective wearing down a WRs confidence to make him ineffective?

these would be a second piece... rolled a +1 superior vision / 2% break block awhile back

go for a +1 SDC piece. Costs most to increase, and most effective.

I would definitely pick the first..

2 agi = 10 point (at least, when you get up lvl) / 1fs could easy be 4 points, and its useful..

1 tackle = 2 points, IF you have it capped.. I havent, and don't plan to do so for a long time.. / 1aoi, probably works, put how much? mayby if your lucky, the wr will drop 1 pass that he otherwise would have caught

+2 agility and +1 First step is nice until you find something better maybe.

Kinda liking the +catch ball chance also. First step is always good, but I haven't had that opportunity yet, settled for change direction.

Change Direction >>>>> First Step

The only reason I have invested in FS is to put points in CD.

I don't personally put much stock in first step for CBs.

You should look for Shutdown Coverage or Superior Vision or +5% deflect ball
or any combination of those with +3 in: speed, agility, vision, catching or jumping
or any combination of those with each other (omg I couldn't imagine getting SDC and +5% deflect. that would be sexy)

First step is Crazy good for corner backs.

First step is important in aggressive coverage. Change direction is good for all coverage. CBs can't do anything if they aren't in the right area. Swat ball, catch ball, and other ball skills mean nothing if you aren't in the right zip code.

Why is First Step important for aggressive coverage? Can you post an example?

Good example here. Note the CB on the right gives a cushion. He has more ticks to see, read and react. If you check the left, he crowds the line and covers real close, that first vector he takes can put him in front of, behind, or going the wrong way. Even though it's LOLdots, you can see how quick the initial reaction is compared to the guy with the cushion.

However, if you think watching the dots is actual proof of anything, I would re think that a little. I was kind enough to illuminate most of the actual calculations which occur as well as a dot-play-by-play.

You can do that without first step.

We can argue whether or not most SAs do anything at all, but that is what it is supposed to do.
