Western Conference Finals
(1)Huskers Illustrated Bugeaters
vs.
(2)Honolulu Beach Boys
The Bugeaters (15-1) were and early season favorite to be in this position, and other than a surprising upset by the little known Slugs, they have not failed to come through. With a potent offense and a defense reminiscent of Alcatraz’s prison guards, they look to bring in the clubs first championship. All that stands between them and a championship game, is a group of beach boys.
This season has pretty much went as expected for the Beach Boys (14-2). An early season loss to the Express set them back a pace or two, but they have turned on the pressure fervently. Now they look to avenge a 27-10 loss to the Bugeaters and replace them as the team to beat in the West.
Both of these teams enjoying being in the BBB#12, but neither want to be back next year. They are too close to advancement now to be happy to settle for anything less. But only one team can claim that prize. And tonight will decide. To the victor goes the spoils!
Honolulu has a strong offense, but the stat that jumps out the most is the 47 turnovers (1st in conference, 2nd in league) they have forced this season. And they will need to continue this trend to be successful tonight against the #1 rushing team in the league. The Bugeater offense has put up some astounding numbers (3900 yards rushing) this season and will be looking to hang another high total on the Beach Boy’s and roll into the League Championship on a high note.
How will this turn out? Who will represent the West in the title game? Honolulu turned the ball over 4 times in their last meeting, causing their offense to sputter. You can’t score without the ball. Period. But I think they will hold onto the pigskin this game, and put a few more points on the board. But, unfortunately, Money James and the Husker’s crew will put up more.
Bugeaters win 30-17
Eastern Conference Finals
(2)Sconnie Badgers
vs.
(5)Awesomeville Bearphins
Let’s all be totally honest. We all expected one of these slots to be filled with All Stars. But the Bearphins (11-5) pulled off the biggest upset in the East and now they get to play for the glory. Now their high Octane passing attack and solid defense will try to put them in another league. The USA A#6 league to be exact.
Sconnie (15-1) has surprised none of us by being in this position. Solid play all through the season has led them to a great year and a respectable reputation. They bring a great rushing attack and a defense that allowed only 5 touchdowns all season. They not only want, they expect to be playing for a championship next week now that their arch rival Tecmo is out of the way.
After putting up over 400 yards last week, the Bearphins will come into this game on an adrenaline buzz. Look for them to try and implement another passing attack to take down Sconnie. And you can look for Sconnie to run the ball as they have done all season, with great success.
Awesome Lee will look to improve on his 12/27/0/3 performance which only netted him 72 yards against Sconnie earlier in the season. The Badgers ran a very balanced offense that only put 9 points on the scoreboard. Look for them to turn back to their consistent run game, and look for it to produce a win for them.
Sconnie Badgers win 21-13
