Pro-League Championship Game - Prague vs. Sarajevo
Breakdown:
The Cinderella Sarajevo Reapers, who narrowly squeaked out a win against the Sheboygan Chaos Theory, take on the undefeated Prague Punishers, who dominated the Rome Gladiators 32-3. On paper, this looks like a complete mismatch, as Prague has rolled through their entire Conference without breaking a sweat. Prague's starters are mostly 2-3 levels above Sarajevo's, and most of which played on last season's championship team.
Sarajevo, however, looks to stage a historic upset. Last season, the team was named Warsaw Punishers, and were overshadowed as the so called "other" Punishers. After re-inventing themselves as the Sarajevo Reapers, they have come out of obscurity to win the Alpha Conference title. Can they continue their Cinderella march into history? All will be decided this Wednesday in the Super Bowl!
Match-Ups:
Quarterback: Little Debbie vs. Kyler Outlaw - This match-up is closer than one might think. Little Debbie had an amazing season, throwing for 3851 yards and 36 touchdowns and hasn't slowed down a bit in the playoffs. Nevertheless, Kyler Outlaw has been one of the most under-rated stars in the league, as he gets few opportunities to pass in Sarajevo's run-heavy offense, but makes the most of them when he does. Nevertheless, Prague is the clear favorite here. Edge goes to Prague
Halfback:Javorskie Vice vs. Cary Stayner - Similar to Kyler Outlaw, Javorskie Vice gets overlooked in Prague's amazing passing offense, but always makes the most of the opportunities he's given. Nevertheless, Cary Stayner is the obvious Superstar here. Cary lead the league with 2258 rushing yards and 38 touchdowns for a 5.3 average, all league-bests. He leads the playoffs with 339.5 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns. Edge goes to Sarajevo
Wide Receivers: Prague is lead by Level 20 TE ScatKatt Bison, who led the league in receiving touchdowns with 16. He came in second to WR Steven's Steaming Seaclams in yards with 1322 receiving yards. Complementing Bison is WR Ben Venuti, who had 1010 yards receiving. Sarajevo, on the other hand, is led by WR Will Boose, who has 638.5 yards receiving and 6 touchdowns. Edge goes to Prague
Offensive Line:Both teams are led by amazing offensive lines. Prague has two huge pancakers in OT Big Joe and G Coke Zero, with 200 and 192 pancakes respectively. Sarajevo has a more run-oriented offensive line, with maulers at both tackle positions and is led by Center Pancaked Ya, who has 179 pancakes on the year. Sarajevo has not been out-pancaked a single time this season. Edge goes to Sarajevo
Defensive Line: The stars are clearly Prague DE Shaun Kruscher and Sarajevo DE Deebo, who have 28 and 22 sacks respectively. They were #1 and #2 in most sacks for the season. Both are the quality of player that can really dominate a game. Both teams have also given up under 300 yards rushing all season. Edge goes to Prague
Linebackers: Prague's leading tackler is Linebacker Heinrich Krupp, who has 77 tackles and only 2 missed tackles. Sarajevo is led by Linebackers Joe Dynasty and Mea'lofa Tatupu, with 49 and 41 tackles respectively. Edge goes to Prague
Secondary: Prague cornerbacks have had an amazing season at grabbing interceptions. Prague CB Jason Swift has 10 interceptions while fellow CB dime back has 9 -- two for touchdowns!. Meanwhile, Sarajevo's biggest weakness may be their secondary. Edge goes to Prague
Special Teams: Surprisingly, Prague has struggled with field goals, as Kicker Dante Williamson has missed 10 of 30 field goal attempts in the regular season. However, he's regained form in the playoffs having hit 9 of 10. Meanwhile, Sarajevo Kicker Nick Folk has gone 7/9 at Field Goals. Edge goes to Prague
