or is it too damaging to the build later on since there's so many other attributes safeties need?

It really depends on your level and how balanced your build is. (Is 74 the 4th cap?)
I wouldn't build speed to a natural 74 until your agility and vision are at 68 and your strength and tackling are at 60.

I don't see why you would. My SS (taken to 68) will hit 32 here soon and be over 100 speed ... with 40/48 EQ and level gains, you're looking at 110+ speed. When there's strength, vision, agility and tackling to invest in (in no certain order), use the SPs elsewhere.

I'm even so much thinking I'd rather take one of the EQ pieces into agility and have 102/80 instead of 110/72.

Er you won't be looking at 110+ speed. My level SS has 80.39 base speed, so with equipment he currently has 110.39 speed and I've already his other important attributes relatively high.

If your SS has 68 base speed now, from now until level 48 you'll get a max of +3.25 to speed from level ups so you're not gonna have 110 speed until level 56. At level 56 my SS will have 120.6 speed.

Well, no, it's not 68 now ... I was simply saying that's as far as I took it to start with. It's 74.86. Through 32 EQ upgrades, it'll be 100.86, plus 40/48 equals 108.86, plus 3.48 in leveling equals 112.34 by 48.

So I suppose at Level 56, he'll be at 117.7 speed. And I guess if I found +3 speed, +1 SA AEQ, it'll be 120 as well. And yeah, I think that's pretty sufficient. But thanks.

Also depends on the defense. If the team you run is a Cover 1 and you are a FS, more speed = good. If you on a Cover 2, then more could go to agility and vision since you only need to cover half the field, rather than the whole field. IMO.

I brought my FS to the 73-74 cap right away.

EDIT: Also allows more flexibility with EQ to move a piece out of Speed to something else if the team wants to. Where as if you go 68, that one piece needs to be in speed to be at the same level as the S with the next capped speed.

i wanted to do the same with my current low-level FS, but i'm entertaining the thought of stopping at 68 now. hwo much do i gain with +6 SPD in comparison to what i lose in VIS and AGI? i think i'll first cap VIS prior to get SPD from 68 to 74.

any more thoughts?

Cool. I'd just thought by your post that you were against taking speed to 74.

in my opinion the question is not, if you take SPD to 74, but in what order you hit your caps. so is it SPD to 74 before you adress VIS and/or AGI?

You gain +2 in agility in the long run. I put one piece of EQ in agility, so long run, my agility will benefit from bringing speed to the 74 cap

Well, right now I have 69 speed and 48 agil, vision is at 20 something, was thinking going 74 speed next, or should agil/vision be addressed next

I think the question is not if you have to get SPD to 74 on a FS (IMO you have to), but the question is when.

So do you get SPD to 74 before capping anything else?
Or do you get SPD to 68 first and then bring AGI or VIS to the 48- or 61- or 68-cap before bringing SPD to 74?

If you 68cap it first you probably don't really need to as it'll be about 78 by level 40 naturally. By level 55 it'll be above 80 naturally so i think taking it to 68 cap first will be fine

okay, i brought SPD to the 74 cap prior to capping anything else. we'll see how it goes...

will probably be about 80-82 natural at level 48 i'm guessing. i don't have the math though. the player creator or the script can tell you though
