I'm the O-coordinator and do a lot of special teams work for the team he's on... so I can literally do whatever he wants. I personally believe he's got an excellent build... but the results say otherwise. I've got +3 in both Quick Cut and Head Fake from AEQ right now.

My first inkling is to just turn him into a KR/PR. I figure at the least he'll be very good in the role... and with VAs he has a chance to be downright dominant. Problem is, I don't really want to pay 900 flex a season for a returner.

Naturally he's only got 76 speed... so I'm over the idea of trying to make him a speedster now. He does also have 75 natural agility though, which is a bit higher than a lot of WRs I've seen. Would it be worth my time to switch a second piece of gear over to agility and try going with 92 speed/87 agility? Where should I put my SP from boosting next season? My first thoughts were to dump points into some combination of carrying, vision, and Juke... but since he's obviously a failed attempt at being a speedster, maybe now is the time to start jacking his Jumping up?

And what about plays? Since I'm OC I can obviously pick whatever plays I want. I'm not necessarily looking to get my WR stats specifically, but we do have a couple of fairly similar builds that I plan on using at WR2, and it'd be nice for that not to be a complete albatross next season. With this high of QC and agility, I'm guessing routes that require lots of cuts might be best?

His problem is with that speed and agility he doesn't have enough vision.
Jumping doesn't help speedsters that much.

Well would you even realistically call him a speedster at this point? Even if I moved that piece of gear back to Speed, he'd be only looking at 104ish speed right now, which would only make him a borderline speedster IMO.

I'd consider him a speedy/elusive variety. Kind of like a movement focused balanced build.
I do think it would have been better for you to go into spin/juke than head fake, quick cut, and first step but it doesn't seem irreparable.

I agree with Juke, but I'm still iffy about Spin at this juncture. I don't know if I have the ball in my hands enough for it to be worthwhile.

While typing this post I just rolled both a +5% to fake, +2 carrying and a Spin piece of AEQ though. Pity it's on the same roll, since I'd like both... but I'll settle for the awesome fake gear. If I go full Return Man, I could be looking at a +73% chance to Head Fake/Spin/Juke to start the season as a returner... and +43% on normal plays. Lawl. If I'm lucky I'll roll a Juke piece of gear next...

well i think that with all those points in agility and Qc and HF it is a shame your carry is so low.

He's only level 44... It's not like I have a ton of wasted SP anywhere, eh?

#1 I vote no vision, mostly because I'm the anti-vision guy.

#2 DO NOT get spin. In order to successfully spin, you need to have 2-capped if not 3-capped str/car. Its a modifier to your break tackle role.

#3 Decide what you want to be. If you want to be a receiver you need to train jumping/stamina and softcap them both asap. You'll also need to take yourself off of special teams. Right now your WR has low stamina as well as getting railed more by energy as a return man. If you want him to return kicks/punts thats fine, but realize that he can't achieve both that and being a highly successful receiver. People vastly underestimate the role of energy at the receiver position.

#4 Your missing some equipment. I'm sure you know this, but you are currently missing +5 from equip (since 96-76=20 and 80-75=5 so you have 25 in equip and you should have 30). Tbh, 101 speed isn't when you still have +5 in equip coming, as well as +4 at level 48 and +4 at 56. Thats potentially ~115 speed by level 56 which certainly isn't slow. I'm not saying that you need to put all the equip in speed, I'm simply saying that 76 base spd isn't slow.

I find that on balanced speed/agility guys in the mid to sub 90s, it is important to get ALL your WR attributes to the cap. The build will start to take off at that point, then you will want to start taking select attributes higher and focusing on VAs. Get your primary and secondary attributes up. Confidence at 25 and carrying that low aren't helping.

In all honesty, from the HBs I have been looking at, 90s speed, 90s agility and soft cap carrying are enough. Note the excessively high agility seems to be the key IMHO as does the 6+ in spin.

Perhaps, but idk.... Best spin back in GLB's agent was telling me that 70 agility is plenty for a HB and over that is wasted...

I've seen some high spin/80 agi guys who literally broke 0 tackles as well...

your WR is very much in the mold of mine.

but your confidence is way too low. Confidence is, from my understanding, a modifier on everything and especially for WRs and that's really low to me.

Mob is right about the more balanced guys and needed more things capped.

And being on special teams with low stamina kills your overall production by a lot. I bet if you get off it you'd be fine.
