WTH?

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3052480

Are you guys really opting out of the WPL?

All of our players who have posted in our team forum about the World League donīt want to play there and want to stay in WEPL for their last season and for me this is enough to not go to there. The have pay a lot for their FP, so I should respect their wishes.

Also I didnīt like the whole idea, it is just another example how unorganized and without any real concept changes will be made in GLB.

Someday we will play in this World League, but not next season.

weak move, imo, you lose by 8 to a great team, your going up whether you like it or not.

Also, for Pro league teams, I have added an option to indicate that you do not want to participate in the world league. Keep in mind that for the tip top teams who are obviously much better than the rest of their league, we may still promote you. However, if you're lower down the totem pole and are worried about getting crushed, or are planning on going slow build, etc, this option is for you.

Totally agree, the whole process has been ridiculously unorganized. Hate to see this, because it might mean that we get promoted in your place. Not that I'm afraid of WPL, but I'd have liked to have won some WEPL trophies first.

Don't really know what's going to happen though.

For me the wishes of the players comes first and after that the next important thing is what I want and after a long line of nothing I think about what Bort or other people wants

I would have been different if there where clear rules about a World League and who gets in and who not, what will happen in season 12 who gets demoted and where and everything else. But is was a post from Bort in a thread a few weaks ago that the World League will be coming, than some it looks for sure, Bort put on the breaks and tell us no world league and all of a sudden a few days later we are in the World League. Sorry that total bullshit.

I wouldn't say this is a "weak" move but I don't think Bort is going to let you opt out. You played and barely lost by 7 to the #1 team in all of GLB. You guys dominated in league and the playoffs. If you were like Berlin that went 9-7 and had a good playoff run and were forced into the WPL, then I could see your point. Your complaint doesn't seem to be that you don't think you would do well there, but that you are worried about what will happen in season 12. I don't think that is a good enough reason not to go. If Normandy was in your spot, I would be honored and excited about going to WPL. To show what my team could do against the top teams in all of GLB, especially when my team is in my final couple seasons. Think of it this way, what if you were in AAA and you went to the final and lost. The following season you would promote to the Pros, but your team votes in the forum that you don't want to go to the pros. You want to finish out your careers in AAA. That wouldn't be allowed nor should it. The object of this game is to promote to the highest levels and compete to the best of your abilities. Not to stay behind because you might be able to go 16-0 and win the championship.

I understand that your team wants to stay behind and I respect that you want to do right by your agents, but it seems that it is only about staying back so you guys can win instead of moving up to WPL and take a chance

Remember the Seinfeld episode when Jerry proudly proclaimed "I choose not to run!"

It's because he was afraid of getting beat.

I'm not saying you guys don't have the right to not want to go. But don't act like it has nothing to do with the competition. What better way to end your players careers than competing against the best of GLB. Unless, of course, you don't think you can compete.

Actually, it's because he cheated and took a head start. He didn't want to run again because he knew he would get beat and everyone would deduce his tomfoolery.

But I digress. GTFO Korb.

It was never proven that Jerry cheated. There is some evidence that P.E. teacher Mr. Bevilacqua was slow on the start, leading to Jerry's head start. And in the rematch, again, it can be said the head start Jerry got was purely accidental since he was only reacting to the backfire of Kramer's car.

If the circumstances involving Korb's proclamation that they "Choose not to play!" involves an old gym teacher and a possible two week vacation with their girlfriend Lois, then perhaps they deserve a pass. Otherwise, GTFO Korb!

I just wanted to get Mr. Bevilacqua's name into the official record.

That's my wife's maiden name. "Bevilacqua," I meant. Not "Mr." I tease her about it every time that episode is rerun.
