I am tired of signing a player to a contract and then a little bit later i get this message "My friend just bought a team and i was wondering if you could release me so i can go play for him" How is the owner supposed to be protected from something like this? To many times we worry about protecting the players and their rights... what about owners rights? Maybe we need a committee for that and i would be the head of it if we had an Owners Association or something of that nature where the owners from each league gather and discuss certain problems... is this possible??? If we release or trade these guys requesting such things our teams chemistry goes down and the player walks away scott free.. what should we do??

I actually think I took this guy off of your hands jdog. I understand wanting to play on a friends team but I'm not sure there is an answer to this type of situation that will ever make everyone involved happy.

If someone you just signed wants off your team, offer to resign them to an end of the season deal for the minimum, and if they don't like that then tough cookies!

If there were an owners association you could make a "blacklist" and post it. To get on the blacklist a player would have to do something unforgivable and it could be voted on by the other owners whether that player should be on the blacklist or not.

I heavily support this idea, and I am not even an owner.

No, I think there should be an Exit Early Fee, like if you exit earlier than your contract, you have to pay a percentage of the money you have gotten from the contract.

And for god's sakes, it's a freakin GAME. Let the guy go to the team he wants to be on.

Would you like it if some random from Players looking for Teams had the ability to place himself as your team's starting QB for the next 40 days? Wouldn't it suck that you spent money to have control over something and then have somebody else making decisions for you without your consent and beyond your control?

Point is don't sign the damn contract then. You are not an owner so you have no idea how many times you sign a player then a week or later "My friend has a team please cut me or trade me there" That screws my team over and any other team so you go and F yourself

Easy there, Jdog. You can start the "Jdog Association" if no one else wants to join up with you. March to the beat of your own drum! Be unique! Be yourself! Own your team the way you want to. I agreed with you about the frustration of players recently signed to your team that want to jump ship after one game. It sounds like a tough scenario. I also listed ideas of how to remedy the situation in a way that was win/win for both parties. Chillax, bro!

there is already a Owners union and we are talking about ways to hurt the player and as well as the team with this. So instead of only the owner getting screwed with team morale and losing a player the player has something happen to them as well
