Look at this crap. I have posted it in the bugs forum in the past, no results.

The very first defensive AI setting is Opponent having 5WRs. There are a few to cover specific situations, then a generic one to cover all other situations where there are 5WRs on the field.

About three or four times a season I see this happen, where the AI ignores that specific input and gives us something like this.

Occassionally I see it on other formations also, but 5WR is the most glaring so it is easier to spot.

Sorry, venting.

Incidentally, this is the Shotgun defense that was called. Same thing I posted in the bugs forum in the past.

nor have I, my friend. The few times I see a play call I don't expect, it's because I forgot to change/take it out from a previous game. Happens on second down a lot

Make sure you go through your AI and look hard for any conflictions. IMO that is probably what it is. Not a bug.

That's usually the explanation is you the AI creator is missing something in his AI rules that he hasn't thought of or figured out why it doesn't match correctly.

I can't stand when people complain about stuff like this because there is no way for the reader to verify if it is a bug or an AI oversight. If you dont' want to post your entire AI for review, then we have no choice but to assume human error as being the most obvious reason why you are not getting what you want to get. You have to fix it manually.

I've seen bugs in the AI before. For really dumb stuff too, like if you have 4th and goal from the 1, it won't count as 4th and 1, it will count as 4th and 100 or something silly. I've also seen it sub the wrong players in and out based on certain glitches. It's usually user error, and unfortunately support will rarely look further than that, even when we can prove exactly when it is happening and what the bug is (which is next to impossible since we don't have the source).

Good luck.

It's true...the Offensive AI doesn't have actual bugs in it. I had one for my Tonga team. I called for 80% runs on 1st and 2nd down for an entire game. And I ran exactly 1 time the whole game....lol. And I gave access to at least 10 people, including a bug mod and non one could find an error.

Eventually, one guy helped me out and said that my AI was possibly too large. Meaning too many inputs and way too many outputs for each input. But I wanted it that way so I could just change percentages to get a different outcome. I deleted a lot of the outputs set to 0 and reloaded it and I didn't have any more problems. Maybe you should try the same thing. Doesn't explain why it happens, but it may help.

I have the seen it happen to the Gurupies a few times. That play call and a play call where the MLB covers the WR 1 on 1 for some reason.
