Anyone 3rd cap catching on a CB, I'm looking into starting a CB that will eventually get vision/catching to about 75.

Wondering if anyone has tried it and what the results were/

I haven't.. but I think 75 catching would be excessive. Right? I'm not sure how the sim works, but CBs have the first roll on pass attempts. I'd have to think you would need adequate speed and agility for positioning and a fairly balanced build to have success with player with the ball hawk mentality. 3 cap catching maybe?

It could probably be worth a test if you sacrificed some speed and agility for vision, catching, etc.

Guess he knows his stuff. Nevermind.

My CB has 100+ speed...70+ agility...65+ vision and 55 catching. I have a vet bonus of +3 to catching and 7 into sticky hands. I only have 1 INT this season. So I think putting that much into catching is a waste. Put your skill points into jumping instead. That's just my opinion though.

UD, you might have just saved me a lot of time and a little money. My next experiment was to be a low jumping/high catching cb.

I am working on that. But at level 40 he only has second capped vision and catching. Seems like if you want respectable speed and agility, and get vision and catching to 75, you will be about level 60 lol.

It's worth a try. I am going to finish second capping catching, then hit vision up to third cap. Get me some sticky hands A.E. and he should be pretty close to finished.(for what I wanted to experiment with (low jumping, high catching)

If you go that high with vision and catching, you're probably looking at 0 jumping.

It's Rough.

Yeah my thought was to go all catching, and not so much jumping (just 40 to get ball hawk)
I'm seeing enough WRs ignoring jumping, I thought it might work..

I'd probably top out at like 90 speed also.....isn't that what everyone is saying 90 speed CBs can cover 110 speed WRS? (yeah i know its bullshit...)
I don't know now///

There are plenty of WRs that have way over 55 catching though, Not many go up to 75 though, its all a game of out performing opponents in the end...

Also My CB with 68 jumping isn't doing much either....so i'm disillusioned with jumping at the moment

are you playing off the receiver? Plus you need more sticky hands than 7. you also need high super vision before sticky hands should even be worked on.

I am actually surprised mine has 7 ints. he has been on -100 all season, and most of his picks have come from blow outs.

I am just being patient. I know sticky hands works. I have seen it work.

Have most of your ints come from third down?

Catching soft capped or even low 40'ish is fine. My lower catching CB (42) has always out performed my higher catching one (50).

Going 100+ spd and leaving a 30 pt gap to agi is actually a waste of points. Vision below 70 on your level is also subpar, how can you possibly hope to pick a ball off when you dont see it?

Also very high jumping + Ballhawk + playing on agressive + low catching -> a ton of caught passes on you due to failed int-attempts.

70+ vis, 65 jump, 60 catch, 12 SV

I plan on taking jump and catch to 68 each.

NO it isn't. Leave people a lone with that nonsense. Just because you do it and somehow think you're better doesn't mean everyone has to do it. 100 speed and 70 agility is perfectly fine.
