When Should I start shopping for AEQ?

i got a pretty good SA aeq in the mid 20s

My Lowest level D.E. got +2 agility and +1 first step @ level 16.

I am waiting until 40....not sure that it makes a ton of difference though.

I read a post that said the higher level your player the better odds of getting a great piece of AE.Say you have a 1 in a 100 chance of getting a +3 stat +1 SA at level 20 you might have a 1 in 50 chance at level 40.I made up the numbers but that was the gist of the post that was allegedly a quote from Bort.

I have been starting earlier with each player. The overall quality of the pieces is not as good, but it can take so long to find a decent item...I just want to get it over with asap. When my players are up in level, I might look to upgrade, but at least my lower guys have something build up right now.

Bort may have implied that but he didn't come out and say it, and I don't believe it. My level 50+ players roll TERRIBLE eq, all my best eq has come from levels 20-40.

i had a +2 jumping + blitz piece as well as a +2 stamina + TV piece, both before i hit level 16

I got my stuff at mid 20's...

Both first step AND tunnel vision.

+2 speed/TV

+2 agility/SB

Rolled for a DE at level 16. I did have 20 shopping tokens though and went through 16 to get these, but did also pass on a bare SB, bare TV and bare Blitz.

For my DT, at level 16 rolled:

+1 agility/SB

+2 str/SB

Also went through a few tokens. Passed on bare TV and +1 con/FS.

It took me 2+ seasons of shopping just to find a +1 D-line piece for my NT. This season I've been shopping for a 2nd AEQ. All this talk about a +3 att +SA piece is a friggin joke cuz I've never seen one. If anything my rolls seem to have gotten WORSE. I'd settle for just a shed block, break through, % break block heck even just a plain ol +3 to a relevant attribute. Throw me a fucking bone here! I've heard someone say that they had better luck shopping in the off season. I don't know if there's any truth to that or if it's just more conspiracy BS. You know when you are nearing the end of your career logic dictates that you really should be rewarded with better rolls. We should not be seeing a bunch of +1 att over and over again.
