Any specific examples or knowledge if it is hot or bogus?

A clutch disengages the transmission on a car or truck and allows for the smooth transition from gear to gear in a manual vehicle.

Uh, no.
It makes SAs and other various modifiers come into play that make you more adept at every variable of gameplay in the given situation/position.
Straight from Bort, so no need to debate it.

Clutch (when it activates) gives you a bonus to that roll.
So...let's say you are a LBer things that might happen during a play.
* Play read run/pass
* Pass thrown
* Shed Block
* Reverse Pancake
* Stun Blocker
* Tackle
* Force Fumble
* Pass Deflection
* Interception
* Diving Tackle
* Monster Hit
*** etc.
So, with Clutch you could get an unknown bonus to some of those rolls when ever Clutch fires. Chance are, it's not a huge bonus.
