As the title says, has anyone built just a pure athlete at WR? I'm talking about like 90+ natural speed and high agility, a WR who is just built run.

I know flames54's WRs were pretty fast but I wanna know if anyone's going higher with a WR that could eventually have 130+ speed.

If I go with the build plan on my LVL 26 WR he'll have about 132 speed with equip/VAs by LVL 51. Though, I am considering deviating slightly and trading +2 speed long-term for an extra 20 SP's. If I 10-cap as planned I'd have 94 speed at LVL 51, but if I don't I'll be sitting on 92 speed at LVL 51, fwiw.

Speed is currently between the 8th and 9th cap. Agility will be 3-capped and from there I'll be doing what I can to make him a real receiver.

I'm starting to think there is no benefit it the pure speed WRs, with all the boost DBs get with Shutdown Coverage, Closing speed, and Ball Hawk. I'm no where close to that with my WR, 71 base speed 102 full speed (non-slow built) but I'm part of teams who have WRs in the 110-120 speed range and you get around the same production from them. In AA and up, I don't really see any WR just blow past anyone anymore.

i have a lvl 20 with 81.27 natural speed. the plan is to make im super speedy, fairly minimal agility (i'll maybe get it to 60 eventually, but im thinking about keeping it at 48), high FS and decent QC. and then im going to go high strength/carrying. hopefully he'll be a WR screen beast.

That's kinda what I was planning with my WR but I've decided to stop working on speed and make him incredibly agile as well as fast.

That's true, which is why I'm thinking that what if there's a massive gap between the CB and WR's speed. With the added benefit of creative route running a WR might just be able to blow past a CB.

I was, but after a while I just decided to build him more as an all-round WR.

No, and he's 5th string so he doesn't get on much. Also, his 107 speed wouldn't be that much of a gap, as I said I'm wondering what WRs with like 90 base speed would be like.

Actually, I do have a replay!: http://test.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1250&pbp_id=275846

lvl 38 with 83 base speed

Anything more than what he has is a bit counterproductive.
