Hey been struggling with my WR, not sure how I feel about creative.

here's a good example of my player shaking off two defenders, getting a TON of separation, but then standing around while the defenders jump back into the pic for the PD. THis seems to be happening a lot and I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on if this is my player/the qb/the play/ or what. I'm stumped

What is your jumping?

44. I can understand losing the PD check.....i'm more concerned about whether or not there's anything I can do that will get me the ball while I have the huge separation. SHould I take myself off creative?

I was going to say it might be your QB vision , without looking at it your lvl,but at that end of the line it should be heaps!
as you seem to have to stop for the pass

QB throwing style it seems. Ask him if he's set closer to bullet style or soft. His passes are pretty slow and it's allowing defenders time to close in.

Id say bring vision up more so you can catch your Qbs bad passes

once upon a time I was hoping to be a wes welker-ish WR but it hasn't turned out the way I wanted it to.

I used to think this was the problem, but here is an example of it happening even with a bullet pass.

Now it looks like the Safety was going to have a great chance at the tackle anyways, but it is still frustrating to see such a good burst of separation ruined because I have to slow to a crawl to make the catch.

Also, look at how fast that Corner catches up once the ball is in the air....lol

Definitely faster, and great separation but the QB doesn't lead the receiver. I see this as the receiver running a route and then is forced to slow down to catch a pass behind him, with several possible explanations.

Could the QB's build be different to lead him with more finesse, or less bullet style, or maybe the QB's build is great and it recognizes the SS and throws short, giving the WR the chance to catch the ball behind him. Or maybe the sim is "borted" and defenses get compensation for covering wide receivers with more speed. I really don't know.

But I think this is a pretty good play after watching several times. The SS is closing in over the top, and the QB recognizes the opportunity is to not lead but to fire it into that brief, small window. In the other scenario first posted, it appears clearly to me the QB isn't throwing fast enough to take advantage of that window. But then again, I might be reading too much into the SIM and it's all more of a crap shoot....

well when i watch this play i'm wondering if ur reciever was running a curl route or if with the vision check of the QB he saw when u were open and threw it but wasn't able to see when u were goin to be open before u got open
