Hey guys,

I have a lvl 27 CB in a 28 capped league. He's the #1 CB on the team, so he sees a lot of snaps. I have yet to get an int this season, and it's rather confusing to me. I think my CB does fairly well. I have him set on around -80 on the slider and I don't see too many passes thrown his way. I'm guessing he's covering the WR close enough that their not targeted as often. I'm wondering why I'm not getting any picks though.

Here are my main attributes:
Physical Attributes
Strength: 17.14
Speed: 89.11
Agility: 66.11
Jumping: 34.11
Stamina: 33.11
Vision: 60.11
Confidence: 18.14

Football Skills
Catching: 21.11
Tackling: 30.14
Carrying: 16.14

Special Abilities
Shutdown Corner Abilities
Swat Ball: 1
Sticky Hands: 1
Superior Vision: 1
Smooth Operator: 1
Shutdown Coverage: 0

Additional Abilities
Monster Hit: 3
Veteran Abilities
Long Reach: 5
Red Zone Freak: 2

I also have AEQ that's adding +10% to INT chance, and +7% to catching the ball (thought I'd try it out). Just wondering if there's anything I should be doing? I'm increasing jumping now.

If you're blanketing your reciever and not getting thrown to then you're doing your job, don't mess that up to get a int or two

all depends on the kind of corner you want to have. my CB for example... definitely a play maker. and while not every team wants him, when he goes FA, my inbox is full within 24 hours. there are teams that want play making CBs.

Just by looking at the teams D you are on, I would say that the INT's are not only worthless, but probably harmful to the teams D as well.

Just let the INT's come and go for stopping the big play. That's how an effective CB will help a team.

Yeah I only get thrown to like 3 times a game and I'm CB2... I'm seriously like WHY?? I can't PD anymore either... or maybe it's cuz I never get thrown to. It's seriously disturbing. When you advance leagues do your skills decrease or does the competition just get better. IE a kicker who is perfect 3 seasons in a row in BBB/ minors, when he trys AA can he still expect perfection or do the goalposts shrink or something...

I agree with about everything that's been said. It is also a lower year for interceptions.

not quite sure how INTs could be detrimental towards my team's defense, or how you are even gathering that. but i hate people who say you need to make a shutdown CB in order to have a good CB. i know quite a few CBs that are playmaking CBs that are extremely effective I can provide names if you want). like my first game this season. we lost by i think it was 2 scores, but i picked off the ball 3 times and gave the offense a chance to tie it up. fact is that there is more than 1 kind of CB, just as there is more than 1 kind of QB, and more than 1 kind of SS.

and to gman... yeah it is possible he is just not being targeted, so i'll leave that alone since it is possibly true, but there is absolutely no need to touch confidence this early. confience is really one of the last attributes that should be worked on. get all your primaries and your jumping, catching, and strength to where you want it, and then you can work on confidence.

well ya of course work on the others first. my mistake. i was thinking he was higher lvl like my CB. but sometimes i feel like a decoy for my team. my CB doesnt quite get the stats that the other CB gets simply because the opposing defense always throw away from me.

reallize that you % enhancements work off of your base ability... so say 7% catching OF your 21 catching is only, less than 2 :/ the intercept ability is some kind of amalgamation of catching and jumping (if not strength, agility and other factors) all roled up into one play AGAINST your opponent's catching/ jumping/ whatever. Bottom line, it's a small number. Sure you get a boost, but it ain't much.

Any CB gets his inbox filled. my INT's have dropped a lot for this season. But I am fine with that. I am the best CB on the team and I rarely get thrown at.
