I'm sitting on 5SP and not quite sure what to do with them.

Attributes
Physical Attributes
Strength: 28.62
Speed: 99.62
Agility: 74.62
Jumping: 15.79
Stamina: 36.79
Vision: 28.62
Confidence: 31.62

Football Skills
Blocking: 15.79
Catching: 30.79
Tackling: 8
Throwing: 15.79
Carrying: 49.62
Kicking: 9
Punting: 8

Special Abilities
Elusive Back Abilities
Quick Cut: 3
Head Fake: 1
First Step: 1
Juke: 4
Spin: 1

Power Back Abilities
Cover Up: 0
Lower the Shoulder: 0
Stiff Arm: 0
Power Through: 0
Dive for Yardage: 0

I'll breakdown what I think are the options and maybe you guys can help me pick something.

Speed - I'd like him to be faster but at this point it cost 6SP per point so I'm not sure if it is a good investment right now.

Agil - Seems like he has enough.

Strength - I'd like to get him more strength, but I'm thinking for it to really make a difference I'll need it to be at least 3rd capped and I'm not sure if I want to take him that direction.

Carrying - Only 2 career fumbles...one of which was in D-League...his ball carrying seems fine.

Vision - Not quite sold on its benefits for a HB. Convince me other wise and this will probably be #1

Catching - Current #1 choice for capping since he is used as a pass threat more than a run threat currently. The only problem with this is he seems to be doing just fine with 30 catching and +16% chance from scat back.

Not ready to put points into SAs, or stamina/confidence.

Thoughts?

I'll take those too

On a serious note I would probably go with Carrying.

I think now would be a good time for some of your SAs : Quick Cut, Head Fake, Cover Up are all good choices. But if you are not ready yet, I'd say carrying. It'll help in how your HB moves and protects the ball.

Hmm...carrying helps with fakes, broken tackles, AND movement?

If it does help with movement I'm sold.

yes to all of those. i'd definitely do carrying and/or SAs. i'm not a believer in vision either

I know this is now a couple of weeks later ... I was interested in what direction you decided to go in and whether you have found any improvement?

I have a level 35 elusive back (not slow built) and the major differences between our two guys are that you have 10 points more in Speed and I have 20 points more in Vision and more SAs. Thing is ... you have the MUCH better stats (even considering you start and I back up). So you have it right ... as does whatje.

Like you, I reckon that my 32 Catching is plenty (50+ catches per season with only a couple of drops). Also, after I got to 50 Carrying I stopped and focused on strength, which is now at 37 - he only fumbles when playing against much higher level opposition and can now run over the odd max speed/min strength CB build.

i've never made a serious HB, but i though vision was pretty important for elusives. to see running lanes open up and blocks made/fail etc

IRL it's crucial.

In GLB on the other hand ...

Is this supposed to be an elusive back? If so, vision is crucial to fakes, jukes, spin, etc.

I would make the next cap goals vision & strength in no particular order.

Comparing Elusive Backs' replays it seems to me that Vision is great if you have the stats to pull of the moves the eyes can see ... otherwise it gets you into trouble. Ever seen the Kick Return man turn into a jittering reck in mid field when faced with a line of tacklers? This happens even with high Confidence because the feet can't always do what the eyes want them to.

My conclusion is that first cap Vision is more than enough until you start to see your guy miss the running lanes that you know his stats can genuinely make really good use of.

I never saw Kasparov take it to the house.

i run around with like 30 vision on my backs. hasn't hurt me yet, although i'm considering its increased value after the S10 fake adjustments.

I was never a big believer in vision either but I have a lvl 40 back who split carries with someone who was 5 lvls lower and my guy put up 1000 yds less... my back had him beat in every attribute except vision was 20 something sp's less... spd and agi weren't all that close either.. (around+10 in both)

The team pretty much ran on every down so both backs had the same running plays. (he's lvl 38 now but he boosted just before our playoff game.)

Another thing it could've been was weight, which I've never really paid much attention to until recently.. my back is 18 lbs heavier.

I don't know.
