Has it been done? If so, how successful was it? In Borts post a while back about the stun feature, he seemed to suggest that blocking has a large influence in deciding who wins the battle at the line, so I'm wondering how a DT with 61 or 68 blocking would work out.

I'm slowbuilding an experimental DT with this goal in mind, but Id rather not waste my time if people already know that it blows.

depends on what you consider high. I had it up over 35 on a DT that is now retired. I advise against it.

I consider at least softcapped to be high, but I'm thinking 2nd capped and possibly 3rd, with a typical agility build, but sacrificed tackling.

you'll regret it. all my early DL had low tackling and focused on breaking blocks. they have no trouble beating OL but often can't finish plays, whether it's low tackle range or actually missing the tackle.

I'm not too worried about tackling, tbh. IMO, it's the lowest important stat on the totem pole for a DT, and my current DTs do fine with mediocre tackling. My overall aim by level 50 or so would be like 115+ agility, 80+ strength, 70+ speed, ~61 vision, 61-68 blocking, ~48 tackling.

From Borts random statements about blocking for a D line, I kind of suspect that it might be more key than is generally thought right now, but there's a 75% chance that it doesn't do shit.

My DT's tackling is 42 and I'm fine with that (for now anyway, I want to raise it higher for some FFs eventually). On topic, I don't think blocking has enough affect to make the experiment worthwhile.

On that subject, I've found the more your DT weighs, the less tackling you need. A 330 lb fatty with 40 tackling will miss less tackles than a 285 lber with 60+ tackling.

I guess the main thing I've picked up on recently is how high my guys tackling could be if I'd just capped it early. I have no DL with 60+ and several below 50. It's a major skill for both DE & DT so they could all have gotten to 60+ via auto gains if I'd just capped it earlier in their careers.
