Is it as bad as putting a guard in the FB spot?

I don't think it's "as bad" but I wouldn't recommend it if you have a TE that is half decent at blocking.

Agreed, we tried an OT and a FB, and they look lethargic and lost. Both had good speed,vision,blocking, but it gets dialed way back...
