Let me know what you guys think. This is my first player ever and I was going for a hard hitter. I am doing well in my league currently as the tackle leader, but I fear later on I might be in trouble. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

ya not good. u definetly will struggle down the road. deciding to make a hard hitter off the bat was the first mistake. get speed and agility to 68 ASAP then vision to 68 and move all equip into speed and agility. dont add anymore into SA for a logn while altho they arent extremely bad off. stamina strength and tackling are good for now so focus on speed agility vision

Why was building a hard hitter off the bat a bad idea. If the D.C of the team has a game plan where he uses the SS in run support and not in pass coverage then he would be ok.
I play on a team where my SS does not see pass coverage but is in run support. Then we play a passing team I will a back up and see most of the plays on ST(that is the plan we are still in the slow building stage..we have lost about ever game..this is mostly what is in the plans)

But here is my SS

Attributes
Physical Attributes
Strength: 38.6
Speed: 63.6
Agility: 32.22
Jumping: 13.22
Stamina: 18.6
Vision: 27.6
Confidence: 13.22

Football Skills
Blocking: 13.22
Catching: 14.22
Tackling: 61.6
Throwing: 8
Carrying: 13.22
Kicking: 8
Punting: 9

Special Abilities
Coverage Abilities
Change Direction: 0
Superior Vision: 0
Swat Ball: 0
Sticky Hands: 0
Closing Speed: 0

Hard Hitter Abilities
Wrap Up Tackle: 1
Diving Tackle: 1
Growl: 1
Big Hit: 1
Monster Hit: 1

I am not building a coverage SS..but a hrad hitter to play in close run support.(he does have about 20 unspent SP that will used on agility)

After seeing the game we will ysing my SS will not have to be in coverage...but our FSand OLB's are used for that..Again we play run heavy teams..My guy will start..he sucks at one one man coverage..but he should be alright in run support

It seems a lot of it depends on the Def Coord and how he uses players...

You make a good point that, while obvious, is lost on an awful lot of people. Having two SSs and FSs that can be switched out depending on the opponent faced is easy enough to do.
Deciding on which SS to build from the beginning is important since coverage and hard hitter types require different priorities with one obvious exception. Besides, the people who say "build a safety first, then decide" often go on to give advice on how to build a basic CORNER and not a safety.

Although yours has some minor differences with mine, your build there is pretty much the way to go with a HH.

Dude, you put the head right on the nail. Its all about what you are gonna be used for. Don't go in a fucking speed frenzy when you are the one that will be used to tackle first. If you want a hard hitting SS then get your strength to the first cap, work on agility and jumping and get some points in change direction and superior vision after you get your tackling up close to the cap. A hard hitting safety has to know how to tackle with strength. Thats a given so I thought. What level are you anyway?

I just trun a level 20. this is my 1st saftey to build

Yea I got ahead of my self forgot to hit up the strenght
I even had my notes to make that a top priority. And for some dumb reason or other I did not get up there like I wanted(I think it was the training combos I wanted or somthing like that)

But your right about the speed frenzy. The owner of the team I am on is building a run stuffing LB. He went away from the norm of a lot of speed. His Lb has like 70 strenght...not a lot of speed as of right now

But me being a saftey and the last guy in the defnse I thought i would hit his speed up 1st.
I plan on his strenght being over 60+ at the start of next season..I still have my boost for this season the 20 unspent SP..I know I said I was going to put those in aglity..but I may change my mind..still unsure. AS for the SA..the change direction like you said was top on jy list...along with big hit and monster hit..I just found a piece od advce equ with a +1 to monster hit.
