Hello, I am long term slow building a pure blocking fullback. I have most of my build plan mapped out the one thing that I am a bit lost on is SA's.

Lead Block and Pancake are tops on my list of SA's. Strong Arm is going to be next on my list. A tree looking like 3-6-2-4-6 without equip is kind of what I am thinking.

Also what about some of the out of position AEQ? Is First Step or Quick Cut something to invest in? What about Cut Block or Get Low? I just rolled a piece of that and it looks like it could be awesome for a FB for taking out a DT / DE that break through right away. I just don't know how often it would actually be useful.

Personally my blocking FB has AE in lead block and spot blitz. I am getting close to having to figure out my SAs as well. I plan to have 3 AE items each with an SA. I expect DEs will be much better soon especially in the higher leagues so spot blitz may pay off in the long run. If I could find hands that would be perfect. I have never seen this in the shop but it would totally make my SAs simple.

I guess pancake would be great if you found it. I kind of like the sound of hands since it wears out a player so he might be easily pancaked later.

My FB already has 80 agility. Quick cut interests me also but other than that I think when finished my high agility should be enough. I think getting agility to 68 as early as possible will help your FB accelerate and also be agile enough to get his hands on SS and more agile players.

So what about first step? Would that be beneficial?

I had get low...it didn't help me much, swapped it for hold block %, which I'm loving. Have two hold block %s now, no plans on ever getting rid of either (came with 2 and 3 blocking, too).

I've always just kind of downplayed the value of Hold Block pieces for a FB. The way I look at it the full back is only a split second ahead of the HB so he should only need to engage the defender for a quick second. I am by no means saying that I am right, just what I have always thought.

As a rule, I don't do out-of-position AE. Can't boost it up high enough to really take advantage of it.

I also have a Hold Block % AE and really like it (kind of took it because I'd been rolling for half a season trying to get Lead Block and coming up VERY empty...that's what I get for rolling Power Thru pretty quickly for my other AE piece) . So now I'm just going to up Lead Block the old fashion way. From what I've heard, the other Blocking SAs are fairly poor. Better to throw your SPs at attributes.

After spending about 8 bonus tokens I actually already just got my second Lead Block piece. One has a +1 Blocking the other with a +1 stamina so I guess I have what I need.

With both of those I should be able to get lead block to 12+ without much effort. I was going to try and get a couple of oddball pieces but getting 2 Lead Blocks early in his career I should just build them up ASAP

I just rolled Pancake to go w/ Lead Blk 4 my lvl 30.
What do u suggest Str / Sp ratio to be for Blk FB ?
Right now I have: Str 88 (77 nat)
Sp 65 (63 nat)
Agil 69
Blk 48 (I know should be higher by now. Working on it.)
Car 34
Stam & Conf 27
Vis is still low & am traing it.

I have 4 pcs from Pnk Eq to spend. Continue to pump str (how much is enough?) or put them in Sp or Agil ?
Thx guys.

Any thoughts on Shock Block as an SA? I just rolled up a +2 blocking +1 Shock Block piece... it certainly SOUNDS like a valuable SA for a FB, and nothing in the description says it works only in pass blocking.

Bort's confirmed, pass blocking only. If you do a lot of pass blocking, it isn't terrible, though.

I would almost not want a pancake piece. A pancaked player can get up.

I went with run blocking on my pure blocker.

I never could roll FS, and ditched the QC piece to focus more on blocking.

A pancaked player can get up in time to watch a fast HB score.

Meh...I've been having a problem with my Hold Block pieces. He doesn't let go. Ever. A pancaked player lets you run on to the next guy...a block held insanely long (73 blocking and agility, +24% hold block chance) takes both players out of the whole play.

There's a balance. I don't know what it is. But there is a balance that you need to try to hit.
